looking at the fella's accounts he's exactly the kind of desperate-enough chancer that certain types would take on for a job like this.

This is personal and it’s his wife so there won’t be any winding up of company needed this time to get his it of paying.

Will either be paid or she’ll have to claim bankruptcy which won’t happen.

Do the builders have a contract? - if so, who is it with ? (Eg the Mrs, somebody else or a company?)

Who owns the house? - eg. Frank, his Mrs, both of them, somebody else or a company?

Either way, the builders ain't getting paid.

You don't have to have a written contract to get paid for an invoice for a piece of work that has been completed in good faith

I am sure you are right, but you cant take that to Asda.

I have sympathy for the builders but I would be surprised if they got paid out (I genuinely hope that I am wrong).

I’d imagine the builders would have a written or verbal deal with Susan Warren as that’s who the claim was against - the claim wasn’t against a company or Frank. I’d imagine the house is in his and his wife’s name.

The only way I can see the builders not being paid is if Susan Warren goes into liquidation, which is unlikely given the negative press it’d bring. A couple of hundred grand to Frank and his wife isn’t life changing.
