This is worth a rewatch around 7 minutes for those who trust every word Hearn says (not many on here other than Dazn Daz I know)....
I take a lot of what Hearn says with a pinch of salt but I can’t see much that he’s seemingly lying about here. He clearly thought the fight would be on DAZN at the time which he was wrong about.
Re: Boxxer fighters, he’s said that 258 had a slot on the undercard. Souleymane Cissokho was reportedly on there but he’s injured so has been replaced by Ben Whittaker who seemingly won’t even be on the main show.
I don’t think Hearn often blatantly lies. The only one that springs to mind is him saying Galahad beat Warrington…until Warrington signed for him again when he then thought their fight was a draw.
Hearn gives the clear impression in that interview that a) he's in charge of the undercard and b) he knew that DAZN will be showing the fight in the UK not Sky.
Within weeks it was clear that a) he was not in charge of the undercard but just had a couple of slots and b) he was not close at all to the TV deal.
Yeah - in fairness that’s probably what he thought at the time. It probably surprised him that Sky Sports aggressively wanted the fight after AJ committed his future to DAZN.
Just like Adam Smith was pretty confident AJ would re-sign with Sky. I think he also thought that would genuinely happen.
Im not too arsed who wins, I'd probably prefer Joshua just to make the Fury fight more interesting, I doubt Fury takes on Usyk but I'd be happy if Usyk won as well as he's a favourite and I genuinely don't think we've seen any more than 80% of him at Cruiser or Heavy, he's a class act in and out the ring, the way he's continuosly went into the other guys back yard is unheard of, he always looks meh for first 3 rounds whoever he fights then he takes them apart, I've no doubt he can stop Joshua but he's a bit like Lomachenko in the fact he doesn't want a highlight reel KO, outboxing his foe is more than enough
Joshua has power to KO anyone but I can't see anything other than a win for Usyk, the question for me is if it's points or stoppage, I'm thinking stoppage this time around the 8th or 9th

In theory, yes, although lots of streaming services even block some vpns now.

In the olden days English fans generally rooted for English clubs. If there was a rivalry they might not. Since English clubs no longer have an English base playing for them and that local connection has been lost.
As for Joshua Usyk, Joshua will get loads of British support. That is why he's a superstar earning incredible amounts. But you'll get other people like me who he rubs the wrong way and sees Usyk as more genuine.

I agree. I've always found it odd myself. I'd happily back a foreign opponent to a Brit if I just preferred them as a person or boxer. I think team sports and individual sports are different as, generally, teams represent a location whereas individual sports represent themselves (combat sports, tennis, golf) or a brand (motor racing).
I understand backing him if you have more exposure to them like with AJ over most opponents but it shouldn't really be because he's British. Maybe if you're from Watford and you see him as a local lad.

People are seriously underestimating A. J. and his power. The first fight was as placid and poor that AJ has been at heavyweight, yet he was well in the fight after 8 and managed to bruise Usyk quite badly.
Usyk was brilliant and will be as brilliant in the rematch due to his IQ and pugilism. However, Joshua on needs a few clean shots to the body or head and for the first time in his career Usyk won't be able to do what he wants. AJ will be much better this time.
I still think Usyk will win but AJ should be more aggressive and rougher this time so it will be interesting to see how Usyk deals with this. If he survives the initial onslaught then I reckon AJ will just tire and probably end up getting stopped mid to late rounds.
I think Joshua is bored of talking about the first fight and just wants to get in there.
It should be a cracking contest. The first fight was a high class chess match and Joshua had his moments but got slightly out manoeuvred over the 12 rounds.
I think this fight will be different. Joshua is going to have to really go for it and I think he will, which could leave open of course. I think either way, this fight will be over by rounds 6 or 7.
I like both boxers and will be a bit gutted for whoever loses but delighted for the winner.
