Both knocked back fights with Joshua Mickey surely you even accept that now considering Fury and Wilder both admitted it
When the court said he had to box Wilder again?
Yep never even considered offering Wilder step aside money, he announced the Joshua fight was on the exact same day the arbitration ruled in Wilder's favour after months of contradictions, £150 mill pot from the Saudis and still chose to beat up on a guy he'd already just knocked out
Pay millions to a man he knew he had the beating of not to fight? He obviously thought the AJ fight would still be there. AJ spoiled it all by getting beaten up, twice.

Fury is fast for a giant heavyweight. I don't think people realize just how fast he is because he looks awkward on camera. When he is trim and proper the man is basically as fast as a light heavyweight. Even when he is 260+ pounds he is fast with jabs and combinations.

What's hard to figure out about Tyson Fury for a lot of fighters is when he seems to be within range he is really out of range and when he seems to be out of range he's still close enough to hit you. He's also got that Spinks Jinx herky jerky movement going on that Usyk himself utilizes. And like the Ukrainian Tyson Fury is very accurate with his punches especially his jab.

I think Fury's least appreciated attribute is his timing. A man can be quicker than Fury but he gets the timing down and begins to break that person down. Fury's ring IQ is also underrated because he does set up traps in that ring whether people realize it or not, or he suckers them into a false sense of security kind of like with his last performance against Whyte never throwing the upper cut throughout the entire contest.

Another similarity between Fury and Usyk is that both men don't really put all of their cards on the table. After the Ukrainian fought Chisora it was Tyson Fury who said that Usyk was a lot like himself and was probably holding something back, which seems to be the case because the Ukrainian has beaten Joshua comfortably twice.

Mate do you not see Usyk's head and upper body movement? you reckon Fury just gonna pop away with the jab outside easy? Usyk is competitive with everyone, best technician Fury fought is 40 year old Wlad who put in a feeble showing, not knocking the win but it wasn't high level, Joshua showed more skill against Usyk last night than Klitschko showed that night, while I admit Fury had more levels to go that night and just didn't show them because he didn't need to but the whole masterclass theory is nonsense

Best case scenario Usyk ices Fury then sails off into sunset and let's Fury and Joshua fight for the scraps
A 39yo Wlad is a far better technician and far more skillful that the AJ of last night and he's a better technician than anyone Usyk has faced too. A 41yo Wlad was outboxing and outworking a prime AJ when he was stopped. Are we forgetting Wlad barely lost a round for about a decade?

I'd give Usyk the advantage in stamina over Fury but Fury's stamina is far far better than AJs. Fury has 7 inches in reach, 4-6 inches in height. Both are great technicians. Speed is hard to gauge as Fury is fast. Fury is stronger and a better infighter.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I think we may get a truly competitive great HW contest for all the marbles.
Prime Klitschko is clearly a better fighter than Joshua but to suggest he showed more boxing skill against Fury than Joshua did against Usyk i can't agree with, Wlad was abysmal that night and he wasn't much better against Jennings previous fight, again not shitting on Fury's win I'm just saying he never got out of second gear, that's a compliment if anything, Usyk however will ask far more serious questions

I think it'll happen still. A tad like Khan v Brook.
I think Fury will fight Usyk and AJ will fight somebody like Chisora, as a re-build fight.

Then Fury-AJ will happen at Wembley, as a farewell for both.

They both retire.

Then the next generation takes over.

Wlad looked abysmal to yourself and in second gear because Fury made him look abysmal and in second gear. Wlad couldn't punch without Fury countering him, so he went into a defensive shell. Fury-Wlad is a highly tactical bout from 2 A Class technicians that most don't appreciate because both boxers were neutralising each other. There was loads of feinting, defense and movement from both boxers that dictated the lack of action.

AJ of last night isn't coming close to the jab, defense, movement, feints that Wlad used because AJ is a moments fighter and not near Wlad's skill level. As he said himself last night, he isn't a 12 round fighter.

Good post. Fury was at his best that night (probably, he was awesome in the second Chisora fight too). His weight was great, he was sharp and we'll never see him as good as that again.
