It's split between 15 and unranked..
but then there a a few who want him above 15.. which is pushing him to being ranked at the very least 15..
I can see how anyone would want Hrg at 15, but I really can't see how anyone would want him above 15..

AJ stays 2 - Better res than wilder.
Hrgov to 15- very tentative grasp, Winner of mak vs takem will ultimently take this spot unless Its a controversial decision too which will then cause confusion.
AJ is easily the 2nd best heavyweight right now.
Neither Fury nor Wilder have done anything of note so far.
Fury's best win is over Whyte (he was on drugs against Klitschko and ran from the rematch).
Wilder's best win is over Ortiz, who was barely fit to fight that night.
Michael Montero goes over it in more detail in his latest podcast.

By the sounds of it (and I say this tentatively) we're getting Dubois-Whyte on the 29th of October to replace the Beterbiev-Yarde date. Hunter-Fury is meant to be the same night ...Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑23 Aug 2022, 12:08Depends on when the fight it, and Dub would need to win to enter ..
Would be an interesting one if Dubois wins, and one of Hunter-Fury win convincingly. I think I'd be putting them both in the top 15.
Looking at the schedule, Ruiz-Ortiz, Makhmudov-Takam, Joyce-Parker, Wilder-Helenius, Whyte-Dubois, Hunter-Fury in September/October ain't too bad.

Any last votes on this.
I wonder if Zhang had got the decision,
Would people still want it vacant or for Zhang to take #15?

interesting thought. I honestly may have put him in at 15 as at the time I'd have had beating Hrg a better win than beating Zhang. Would most likely be temporary until we get through the next set of bouts.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2022, 16:03 Any last votes on this.

Yeah, also Zhang had a (slightly) better resume.

I agree. I would just rebuild the ranking from scratch, maybe after all these upcoming fights are done.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑24 Aug 2022, 19:53 honestly i find that #15 to be such a clusterf@ck right now, so many boarderline guys. hrg-zhang just muddied the waters more![]()

I don't think anyone is really going to grumble too much if Hrgovic is voted by the majority into 15 (I say this as someone pushing for Zhang's inclusion). Heck Ring have had him in their top 10 for nearly a year.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2022, 19:55They certainly didn’t helpmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑24 Aug 2022, 19:53 honestly i find that #15 to be such a clusterf@ck right now, so many boarderline guys. hrg-zhang just muddied the waters more![]()

I tried that on here roughly 2 years ago, gathering top15 from both this board and the British. It was quite a lot of work, and the final result was interesting... I was quite happy it got brushed under the carpet and we reverted to the original list that had previously been maintained. (great work as always RKO)CMCanavessi wrote: ↑24 Aug 2022, 19:55I agree. The trouble is resetting the list is a self-selecting process, so you get a lot of very "passionate" fans randomly submitting lists as well. As a result a number of the British fans were pushing Duboi very high and perhaps making it a "British" list. Personally, I think the list as it is is a fair reflection of the division. I myself don't agree with everything, but then that's kind of the point. Overtime I think the process we have now does result in a more reasonable/balanced list. It also gives more recognition to unfashionable fighters who are getting good results (like Wallin and Helenius).

Yeh, I agree it's always gonna be based on opinions and individuals.Finkel wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022, 05:59I tried that on here roughly 2 years ago, gathering top15 from both this board and the British. No one person will be 100% for the list, but it's colelctive.
I'm just trying to continue what Dag started. I prefer the poll method and then try to be fair based on that.. The current poll is pushing Hrg into #15..
I think another good thing with myself is, I'm not very bothered about P4P lists. I know there are very passionate folk on here when it comes to it.

Your doing great Ruthie.
It's tricky this time, and personally I wouldn't sweat it because there is going to be a major reshuffle after the September bouts as these lazy overpaid bastards are finally getting to fight each other.
A revisit at the end of next month will change the list quite a bit.

I kinda agree that we should of waited till wbc strip him. Although I’d have voted usyk above him after beating AJ again.CMCanavessi wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 14:13 Should have never left number 1 and we wouldn't even be discussing Hrgovic lol

I wouldn't have put Usyk above Fury. Usyk won a close fight over AJ and Fury wiped the floor with Whyte. Not enough to leapfrog him.gregregegg wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 16:50I kinda agree that we should of waited till wbc strip him. We could put it to another vote.. or we can wait for a fight to be made.
I’m easy with whatever.

Another vote for Fury's position sounds good.
I for one would be more hesitant to continue to crown him 1 than I would have pre-Usyk-AJ II.
Would be a close vote that I think he'd edge, but worth doing nonetheless, if of course you're willing to.

Might pay to wait until he is actually signed to fight someone.
What he says is not always what he does.
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Usyk vs. Joshua II / Hrgovic vs. Zhang
Next few weeks we have several HW fights that will influence the standings. Let's wait at least until after this weekend go from there. Hrg got his 15 spot. Let's move on. When Fury officially has a fight, we can vote to reinsert him.
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Usyk vs. Joshua II / Hrgovic vs. Zhang
Hrgovic vs Zhang looked slow motion vs AJ vs Usyk.

I had him up 10-2 vs aj, for the second time in a row, and I have AJ above wilder who fury went close with twice. And aj miles above Whyte.oogiebe wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 17:06I wouldn't have put Usyk above Fury. Usyk won a close fight over AJ and Fury wiped the floor with Whyte. I would still have fury slightly favourite vs usyk, but on recency I like usyks resume more.
