He had an 88 fight unbeaten streak but that included two draws and a no-contest.Omega Squad wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 13:23 the undefeated record with NO blemish was just recently broken by a Thai fighter named Menoyothan at 51-0 although Ricardo Lopez had already broken the undefeated record at 51-0-1 but the so called experts dont mention it because of the draw i guess lol
oh and didnt Sugar Ray Robinson have a 120 fight winning streak and Buck Smith fought at least 150 non liscensed fighters that a fact so who should be pulled from any history of boxing
Willie Pep is another who had some great streaks 62-0 starting out and then a 72-0-1 run before his next loss.

Ezzard Charles lost at least 6 times as an amateur, and fought a draw at least once:
He lost to Jim Shuffelberger on December 2, 1936,
He lost to Johnny Castro on March 3, 1937 in the Golden Gloves
He lost to Freddy Lewis on April 13, 1937
He lost to Arthur Dorrell on March 1, 1938 in the Golden Gloves
He lost to Dodo Woods on March 26, 1938.
He lost to Sam Amico on March 28, 1938
He also fought a draw against Bill Brown on November 13, 1936

To Duran 180
Walcott did have six tries at the title.
Two against Louis.
Three against Charles.
And one against Marciano in their rematch.

Does anybody got more first round knockouts than Peter Maher?
Maher got 46 wins by knockout in the first round.
Is that the world record?

BoxRec has 47 for him, which is the record as far as I know. As we do more research the totals change, not too long ago he was listed as having 50 first round KO's!

- Tragi-ironically poor Peter gets starched in one by Fitz in Langtry, Texas in the first full length feature filming ever attempted ca 1896.
Apparently that film got starched as well as I have seen no record of anyone having even viewed that historic Thomas Edison Black Mariah footage, the Holy Grail of film history.
Anyone?

barry wrote: ↑29 Jan 2006, 04:43 I noticed that we often have people asking about lists such as "Who had the most career knockouts" and other different stats and figured that it might be good to try to keep it all to one thread, so lets see how this works. Since most lists are always an ongoing project additions and corrections would be helpful. I just wish the format here was the same as in word. I'll start it out with "Consecutive Knockouts."
