Witter to fight for WBC title in London

Yep, I'll be going and the comment about the cheap seats being terrible (as per the Excel Arena) are spot on.

Iits a great venue but I always factor in a cab home into the price.

Great venue, I saw Barry McGuigen and Nigel Benn top the bill there - Nigel coming into the venue to the chimes of Big Ben - great atmosphere but not sure about the seats...everyone was standing up anways I think.

But yes, a bugger to get to. And Witter is going to be a tough sell.

Top class fight though, and he'll put one over on Hatton if he wins. Seems a sure bet these two will meet next year if he does - a natural UK superfight, at long last.

Last time I was there was for the Kaylor v Gumbs many years ago.

Have to say personally, that I think Hatton should take the fight, I think he would take Witter out after a few shaky moments early on. I cannot see Witter being able to cope with that sustained pressure. However, Witter has always wanted the fight, so let's make it happen.

Parking was fine last time I went. Harrison-Bonin. Only ten minutes from me so I always enjoy shows at Ally Pally!

I think Witter can do it.

Corley didn't come to win against Cotto (Im still convinced that he stopped punching when he put Miguel on queer street on purpose), but hurt him badly. He stunned Mayweather as well, and fought a dead even fight with Judah.

I think both guys are definitely starting to slip, but Junior is going to be a little too much for any version of Corley, imo.

He had no excuse in the first place, Witter would be well justified in sticking the V's right at Hatton

if Witter wins the WBC (a more reputable Title
than the WBO) he would get a better deal unifying with Miguel Cotto.

Yep, going round in circles and taking the suckers with him.

If Rabah beats Ndou on Oct 21st; HE becomes the IBF mandatory

and If Hatton beats Urango on Dec 9th its back to where it was a year ago.

Does anybody believe Ricky will honor his word this time?

Witter can win this if he can refind the form of 2 or 3 years ago... perhaps the long wait was hampering him in recent fights... but I cant help thinking that Witter may end up like Howard Eastman, having waited just that bit too long and been too inactive to grab his chance when he finally got it....

if both men are at their best witter shades it or even stops him. its his seeming decline that makes me think he'll be stopped/koed late on

If Witter peforms like he did against Battigla a couple of years back he will win, if he fights like he did against Lynes or Kotelink he will be outworked and lose on points. I think stamina is the big diference in this fight between witter winning and losing

Seriously though, Hatton would deserve the lion's share of the purse - and I think Junior, though initially gutted, would realise this.
