Hatton should have beaten Ben Rabah and kept his belts at 140 obviously, if as rumoured he is fighting Urango next. Has it been confirmed by Fight Academy?boxerrob2005 wrote:well hatton may have no choice but to fight witter if he wins as that maybe his only big fight if he returns to lightwelterweight which it seems he will. Cotto, baldomir, mayweather, judah. margarito and gatti are all at welterweight. If witter wins he will be the man to beat at light-welterweight, compared to urango, mybaye. Witter is in a better position than hatton now. When you think about it the hatton win over collazo has been a total waste of time, that fight has put him right back.
Witter to fight for WBC title in London
Last time I was there was for the Kaylor v Gumbs many years ago.MightyWarrior wrote:Yeah it's been strange low key affair, but as James says, it was probably down to Corley holding out during negotiations.
Witter should win it with home advantage, but I'm not too sure he will....
Great venue, I saw Barry McGuigen and Nigel Benn top the bill there - Nigel coming into the venue to the chimes of Big Ben - great atmosphere but not sure about the seats...everyone was standing up anways I think.
But yes, a bugger to get to. And Witter is going to be a tough sell.
Top class fight though, and he'll put one over on Hatton if he wins. Seems a sure bet these two will meet next year if he does - a natural UK superfight, at long last.
Terrible parking there
If Witter wins Hatton has no excuses. He must fight him.

Kaylor gets off the floor to win the fight with his very next punch.
There's a article on his great win over Christie over at maxboxing.

Parking was fine last time I went. Harrison-Bonin. Only ten minutes from me so I always enjoy shows at Ally Pally!KO Artist wrote:Last time I was there was for the Kaylor v Gumbs many years ago.MightyWarrior wrote:Yeah it's been strange low key affair, but as James says, it was probably down to Corley holding out during negotiations.

Fit for October? mmmmKevin wrote:Not sure if Froch is fit for a September bout I am sure he said he would be back in October/November.
Barker will be definate, just down the road from where he lives.
Remember the Calzaghe fight will be against a no-name stateside... Froch pretty much fits the bill perfectly.
I wonder.
I think Witter can do it.
Corley didn't come to win against Cotto (Im still convinced that he stopped punching when he put Miguel on queer street on purpose), but hurt him badly. He stunned Mayweather as well, and fought a dead even fight with Judah.
I think both guys are definitely starting to slip, but Junior is going to be a little too much for any version of Corley, imo.

He had no excuse in the first place, Witter would be well justified in sticking the V's right at HattonKO Artist wrote:Last time I was there was for the Kaylor v Gumbs many years ago.MightyWarrior wrote:Yeah it's been strange low key affair, but as James says, it was probably down to Corley holding out during negotiations.

If Rabah beats Ndou on Oct 21st; HE becomes the IBF mandatory
and If Hatton beats Urango on Dec 9th its back to where it was a year ago.
He hasn’t in his last 3 fights. :x Can’t blame Frankie anymore.
Witter can win this if he can refind the form of 2 or 3 years ago... perhaps the long wait was hampering him in recent fights... but I cant help thinking that Witter may end up like Howard Eastman, having waited just that bit too long and been too inactive to grab his chance when he finally got it....

You're right there. Pie, chips, peas and two pints. It's a joy to watch.Terence wrote:He does bring more to the table.Blue wrote: Yeah, but the pompous Hatton would demand most of the money.
Boom, boom...(groan) :x
Seriously though, Hatton would deserve the lion's share of the purse - and I think Junior, though initially gutted, would realise this.
