Question: How are the rankings affected following Deontay Wilder's (#3) 1st round KO win over Robert Helenius (#12) and Frank Sanchez's (#13) stoppage win over Carlos Negron (unranked)?
That's going to make the ratings a little odd...
A few posters wanted to move Joyce ahead of Wilder, but overall, the votes put him #4.. But we all knew Wilder was fighting soon.
Think you need to add more options. If we're assessing their record as a whole plenty of people may disagree that you can only go up for a win and only go down from a loss.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 11:15 I don't really believe in dropping anyone who loses, and he did beat a top 15 ranked boxer..
I have only added a #4 option.. If you don't want Joyce to overtake him, then don't click the option.
His many flat and downright terrible performances should outweigh his 2 surprise wins against the same overrated opponent, in my opinion.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 11:52 I'm a little screwed in where i'm voting Helenius.. I'm thinking 15, because I don't think he should drop out yet..
His two wins over Kownacki are still better than other contenders who are not yet ranked..
I think Bakole is a solid top 10 guy. Very impressed with him against Yoka. I reckon he will crack top 5.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 11:49 Bakole is another who should be scheduled soon..
Possibly in the running for no one!![]()
Agreed. 13 or 14 I'm fine with. Wilder to 2 (without Fury in the ratings)CMCanavessi wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 13:13 Wilder to 2 (technically 3), Helenius drops to 13, which would happen anyways when we vote for Sanchez. He's lost to a top 3-4 guy, so still way better than the guys at 14 and 15.
He’s gotta get a fight scheduled and soon.Cyclops wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 12:17I think Bakole is a solid top 10 guy. Very impressed with him against Yoka. I reckon he will crack top 5.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 11:49 Bakole is another who should be scheduled soon..

So would you be only moving Sanchez one place up?CMCanavessi wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 13:13 Wilder to 2 (technically 3), Helenius drops to 13, which would happen anyways when we vote for Sanchez. He's lost to a top 3-4 guy, so still way better than the guys at 14 and 15.
He will be avoided.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 13:43He’s gotta get a fight scheduled and soon.Cyclops wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 12:17I think Bakole is a solid top 10 guy. No, I never said that. But wether you move Sanchez 1 or 10 places up, Helenius goes down 1. I would put Sanchez at 10, above Ortiz and below Bakole..Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 13:43So would you be only moving Sanchez one place up?CMCanavessi wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 13:13 Wilder to 2 (technically 3), Helenius drops to 13, which would happen anyways when we vote for Sanchez. Helenius retirement?
Yeh.. a win against a fellow top 15 HW. A win is a win. AJ Is due to fight soon.. so he’ll have a chance to overtake Wilder again.. depending on opponent.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 14:39 wilder 2, helly out
even considering wilder's power, that was an unimpressive loss for helly and he wasnt a strong top 15 to start with
and wilder simply by getting a win should pass aj, who hasnt won since 2020
Was he injured before the Hunter fight or did he get injured during?
His shoulder went in the fight and he was looking at his trainer essentially asking to be pulled out. It was clear that he was asking to be saved by his corner. I can't remember who his trainer was/is but they refused to pull him out and sent him back in there to get stopped. I remember it being somewhat controversial at the time, potentially career ending. Maybe it was to make him realise how tough the game was? Regardless, I thought it was irresponsible.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 16:16Was he injured before the Hunter fight or did he get injured during?
I don’t think he’s still with Matchroom either.. shame.
