Didn't he go missing after?
Yes, but he did at least arrive. :D
Absolutely. It was the perfect combination of his silky skills at their best and having nothing to lose. The sad thing is, some people don't give him any credit for it and prefer the usual Duran biased nonsense about the Hands of Stone not training or being interested.
I'm of the opinion that both are true. Everyone loves Kirk, don't they?

Definitely, perhaps with the exception of Colin Jones' wife.

Josh Warrington's own win over Selby was something of a statement and the start of his decent run. Selby I think was a favourite in that one.

Selby was favourite but it was well known Selby struggled at the weight. Quality performance by warrington but also maybe a fight to many for Selby at 9st. Warrington did go on a good run. Unfortunately due to the football element he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I genuinely thought, as did his camp that Selby was a level of two above Warrington

Froch pounding out that thrilling UD over Jean Pascal for me, esp. as there were times prior to that where he looked like he wouldn't get past Euro level.
Surprised no-one has already mentioned Fury against Klitschko.
Steve Robinson beating John Davison.
Ryan Rhodes beating Silky jones.
Clinton Woods beating Crawford Ashley.

Ola Afolabi beating Enzo Mac.
I was working in a pub in Sheffield when that fight was on. Some pudendum came to the bar so I ignored him - he was not happy.

I've mentioned this fight on another thread...But Spencer Oliver vs Patrick Mullings was an undercard fight, but actually got some mainstream newspaper attention as "a fight to make sure you watch " type of thing. It went on to be be one of the greatest british fights of all time and Oliver was catapulted into the "world class" bracket directly after that win. He was almost deemed beyond domestic level despite only winning the Southern Area belt

Fitzgerald dropping and beating Fowler felt like a good one.

Fitzy seemed to be getting set up as the statement win for Fowler and he ripped up the book by keeping it close and then sticking Fowler on his arse in what I think was the last round but may have been the penultimate round.

Hardly a statement win though given he's done nothing since?

Yeah I didn’t specify ‘at the time’ but one of those where I went ‘go on lad’ when Fowler fell flat on his arse.

It hasn't particularly aged well, but Anthony Joshua winning a world heavyweight belt on British soil, and against a very mouthy American.
I think everyone in the country was made aware of that win, it was quite a spectacle, and with a highlight reel for the news.
Positive stories about boxing don't make the news much these days.

Yh that was definitely a national announcement.

His more international coming out was the Wlad fight.

Thats where he had all the eyes on him

Amir Khan during the Olympics. The whole thing.

He may have only come out with Silver, but he definitely became a household name straight away.
