I don't understand why he will not fight Froch, I think Froch is a few fights away from beating calzaghe but he has called him out and would certainly be a more legitimate defender than this guy who has beaten little of note.
Bika is better than froch. 4 rounds of abusing beyer with a fine left jab is enough to have him rated a couple of notches above Carl. Sure Froch has done all that's been asked given that he beat Barney & Magee. He might even be underated because he looks so amateurish beating these decent guys.
This guy Bika is a bit of a road warrior, and it wasn't his fault the Beyer fight was cut short. Also, did Beyer really have 50 stitches. Were these figures massaged to save face? Joe Cortez felt Beyer was ok to carry on, as the cut was UNDER his eye. Did Beyer quit because he didn't want to lose, or was he going to bleed to death as Pundit hints?
In a nutshell, Bika's just as promising as young prospects Bute and Andrade, but he gets thrown into more crises than those guys. Yes, I know, a prosepct shouldn't really challenge for a title. But guess what, he's a former WBC challenger and looked very comfortable in a world title fight in Germany.
IMo there's no need to complain about Bika The biggest complaint is that he didn't try & grab Kessler or Beyer when he had the chance. Given a choice I'd watch Kessler-Beyer, but I won't be surprised if Joe has a few problems in there on Oct 14.
