Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
I’m still subscribed although I should I have unsubscribed for January as there’s not one fight I’ve watched or scheduled.
I’m a big boxing fan so watch all of it bar the misfits stuff and I think I’ve had decent value for money.
I don’t really get the hate for the Misfits stuff. By all means I’d agree with anyone who complains about the lack of pro boxing in January but other than possibly watching some Misfits highlights on YouTube, I don’t give it much attention.
Same way I don’t kick off if Netflix spend a load of money on something I don’t want to see. I don’t watch the Womens Champions League either on DAZN but I don’t complain that it’s on there.
DAZN are really shooting themselves in the foot by not locking their schedule down sooner. The same happened at the start of 2022. Not have much confirmed and literally no pro boxing is giving people a reason to walk away which in the current climate is stupid to do.

They could be using the misfits money on other sports or real Boxing.
I don’t blame them. KSI and the rest have following.
That’s all that matters these days

Don’t forget the Golden Boy card on 28 Jan, Alexis Rochamaverick23 wrote: ↑16 Jan 2023, 03:13 I’m still subscribed although I should I have unsubscribed for January as there’s not one fight I’ve watched or scheduled.

I’d forgotten about that but even still it’s 6 weeks or so without a traditional pro boxing card and there isn’t loads announced. They just gave and are giving people a reason to cancel which doesn’t make sense to me.daz74 wrote: ↑16 Jan 2023, 19:15Don’t forget the Golden Boy card on 28 Jan, Alexis Rochamaverick23 wrote: ↑16 Jan 2023, 03:13 I’m still subscribed although I should I have unsubscribed for January as there’s not one fight I’ve watched or scheduled.

Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
It is amazing really the LACK of criticism labelled at Dazn COMPARED to that channel (which I have forgotton the name of) that were paying a fortune for these Youtubers / Ex boxers in exhibitions and putting them on PPV. I see no difference between what Dazn are now doing and that. In fact, a worse of a problem is that these misfits cards are taking the place of a geniune boxing event in the UK and if they are making Dazn more money, of course they will prioritise them - start of a slippery slope.
At least that other channel, except for the Kambosos vs Lopez debarcle were pretty much exclusive to these novelty bouts and its not taking up potential air time and these misfits bouts are usually so overmatched that they are easily enough arranged (I cannot see KSI suffering a huge cut or in such a tough fight that he will take weeks / months to recover).

Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
I believe DAZN had the best intentions but basically the fighters aligned with the masterplan all lost or went to other promoters/platforms.
Canelo sued DAZN / Goldenboy, then the likes of Joshua lost heavily and other fights just failed to materialise.
A station needs the big marquee fights 2-3 times a year mixed in with the smaller, more specialist nights to keep the subscribers happy - maybe tie it all together with a Ringside / Boxing hour type weekly recap show with decent guests.
All said and done, boxing has really fcking shot itself in the foot the past few years. Covid has not helped either. Building names and rivalries has just not been the same as it used to be.
It wouldn't surprise me, given the success of the youtuber boxing events, that they really double-down on that side of things.
Maybe they mix up a few celeb fights with genuine title fights on the same card? I probably wont be buying it though. Perhaps we are all no longer the demographic....

Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
It's just getting to the point that boxing fans just want a decent competitive fight and even that seems hard these days. The YouTubers don't interest me one bit but the sport has been disappointing and frustrating lately.
Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
Fast Eddie ripping off the public again, who'd have thought it...
Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
If you have SKY or BT you get other stuff such as football for your month so they don't just rely on boxing content, DAZN showing no live British shows for 2 months is a massive own goal. Like Covid when SKY Sports had nothing to show then they allowed people to cancel so it's the same with DAZN with people binning it.
Not sure why they couldn't put a British show on last weekend or this to keep people happy, could have run against the Eubank PPV as an alternative.

Re: Just Cancelled DAZN
I sacked it off in about October and I've not particularly missed it.
I always thought I'd re-subscribe when they had a decent run of shows but it just hasn't happened and therefore I've forgotten about them.
I'm not sure where they go from here, and I wonder what will happen to Eddie and his stable if DAZN end up disappearing. One thing is for sure, as has already been mentioned, they're giving their subscribers plenty of reasons to sack them off.

I flicked on the subscription for the Warrington fight and forgot to cancel it for this month. Gutted!
