Yeah !unknownman79 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 11:09 Watch two boxers try to knock each other unconscious but do not insinuate that someone might be gay.
Good to be reminded how weird boxing is sometimes.

Ricky wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 10:57He did actually but i think his angle was more to do with the incident in Tenerife where Kell Brook was obviously up to no good and nearly ended up a Jeffrey Dahmer style victim.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 10:53 Didn't Khan do the same thing to Brook?
Then he tried to use the rave angle didn't he?
Very good Rick - way with words there
Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
The opposite in fact..!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 14:13 wouldnt shock me if cej is gay , and i mean it just adds insult to injury now for smith if this supposed gay man beats him
the fantastic emile griffith enjoyed men too, doesnt mean dude can't be a bad arse in the ring
Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
Was a divvy question from Smith out the blue with no bearing on anything
But was hardly homophobic imo, Sky and anyone who found that offensive need to relax, the world's gone mad
Furthermore, if you found that a bit beyond on the mark, a sport where two men are trying to punch each other in the head probably isn't for you

Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
Childish rather than homophobic. Just a guy who's not matured since being at school.
Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
Asking someone if they are gay is homophobic now?

If eubank is in the closet then mentioning it may give him may rankle him.

Exactly, shows you how sensitive some people are, even on a boxing forumunknownman79 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 11:09 Watch two boxers try to knock each other unconscious but do not insinuate that someone might be gay.
Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
So Chris can put down a man's appearance reharding his hair colour,he can ageist put down a mans family and put down a whole city, which has a lot of people from the LGBTQ+ community in but don't ask someone if they have something to say about not having a girlfriend? Hahaha funny how people can turn something like this into a homophobic comment, have half of you people had an evening with Harry and Megan?
Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
It's just immature banter really. Trying to incinuate someone as gay is a very childish thing to do. Did you think Liam meant it as a put down? To try and get a rise out of him? Or do you think he was asking as a concerned friend?TheGman wrote: ↑21 Jan 2023, 15:28So Chris can put down a man's appearance reharding his hair colour,he can ageist put down a mans family and put down a whole city, which has a lot of people from the LGBTQ+ community in but don't ask someone if they have something to say about not having a girlfriend? Obv to try and get a rise out of his opponent same as Chris done to him,do I think eubank doesn't like Liverpool? No I don't I don't think he really cares about Liverpool,do I think he is bothered about the smiths? No.Verdi wrote: ↑21 Jan 2023, 15:41It's just immature banter really. Do I think Liam Smith is homophobic? No so I don't see the point in this thread, making something about nothing, asking a silly question about if Liam is homophobic makes me laugh. Proper woke question.

Did he mean to insult Eubank by calling him gay? Yes, therefore by definition this is a homophobic slur.
Does saying one homophobic comment make someone homophobic full stop, no of course not. The whole point of the build-up is to get under one's skin. This one just backfired.

Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
If you are suggesting someone is gay and you feel like you have one-upped them because being gay is somehow lesser than being straight, then yeah you get the stick Smith has got. No different to suggesting someone is lesser because of whatever else they were born with e.g race.TheGman wrote: ↑21 Jan 2023, 15:50Obv to try and get a rise out of his opponent same as Chris done to him,do I think eubank doesn't like Liverpool? "But what about Eubank" etc. That's the way these arguments go. Just refuse to even read the post and engage in "whataboutery" as it's called.
Re: Is Liam Smith a homophobe?
Only real thing to rattle Eubank would be to mock his dad. Being called gay doesn't tend to upset most adults.

60% of gay couples don't have penetrative sex. I'm just throwing that out there.Verdi wrote: ↑21 Jan 2023, 16:42After my recent divorce, I have also thought the same.

Come on you easily offended types - can’t we keep Boxrec a snowflake free zone.
Beefy asked a simple question which JR declined to answer, nothing to see here - move on.
