I think it is true that sometimes there is a brother who is more naturally talented than the successful brother. But more naturally talented doesn't mean better.

ya, maybe he looked a beast in the gym or in some very local fights, but if he'd done antthing of note internationally or even nationally you'd think there'd be at least some record

now, being ggg's twin, im sure he had plenty of potential at some level, but doesnt look like he ever proved it in any major way

The twins were both winning titles for fun but when it came to the 2004 Athens Olympics there was only room for one of them to go at middleweight for Kazakhstan.

“He was always the better boxer,” Golovkin said. “He had power too but he was better schooled than me, that amateur schooling.

“It would have been different if he went to the Olympics - it was 50-50 for us at this time because there was a competition in Kazakhstan and whoever won would go to the Olympics.

“I said OK - the rest is history. When I turned professional Max stayed home to care for the family.”
