Fury can't get motivated for Usyk because he's not much bigger than his wife? Seriously?! What the actual fork?!

This is possibly the most ridiculous reasoning I've ever heard.

Unbelievable, but also hilarious :OhYes:

usyk's the same height as 2 guys that dropped fury on his arse, about the same weight as the other who bounced him off the canvas

size shouldnt be a demotivator for tyson

He don't have the power to hurt anyone at heavyweight that is the thing. One can make an argument that Steve Cunningham was naturally bigger than the Ukrainian is, so don't even go there considering the Ukrainian started off as a middleweight in the amateurs.

John Fury has said the same thing the only people who dismiss the size differential is the people of BoxRec who are being brainwashed into thinking a man who started off as an amateur middleweight has an actual chance against a legitimate heavyweight who actually could fight unlike Anthony Joshua who was all hype and manufactured and the British public refused to acknowledge it.

neven pajkic has 5 kos in 18 fights and dropped him on his arse
cunningham was a below average puncher even at cruiser and still dropped him on his arse
otto wallin is feather fisted too yet hurt him and badly cut him

that's not even the point though

the point is that it's beyond utterly stupid to say that paris fury is about 6'3 220, jeeez man

Well if Gypsy John Fury has said it then that just adds to how powerful a statement Gypsy Henry Bobbins is making. Everyone knows that Gypsy John Fury speaks nothing but the truth and pure and utter sense! Amen to that!
How utterly wonderful a point to make.

Yeah but Cunningham is naturally bigger. They may both be 6ft 3" tall but the heaviest Cunningham has weighed in at is 209.5 lbs, which is, of course, waaaaaay heavier than Usyk was when he was a teenager. Still not as big as Paris Fury at 6ft 3" and 220 lbs though.

Now God Bless you Margaret, you mindless idiot.

It’s insane to think anyone as tiny as 6”3 and 220lb lean could hurt anyone really…. Tiny tiny man….

It’s like people think this is loma vs fury the way some see the size difference…

Okay smart ass how about Tommy Fury then. He's certainly closer to the size of the Ukrainian than not. A cruiserweight. Clearly you see a difference.

I mean hell the Ukrainian was eyeball to eyeball with Derek Chisora and everybody can see the great size disparity there was when Fury absolutely dominated him three out of three times.

That's her billed height — she's really 6'1".

The longer this goes the more I expect Ngannou. And TBF, that's who I'd recommend if I worked for Fury. Same kind of money for a lot less risk, and simultaneously a bigger fight for the casuals, sold as a sidestep for a massive has-to-happen-now event. And no lie, it would be. With Paul-Fury around the corner this is an ideal time to talk it up, and we are a declining fandom.

Fury can say stuff like: “Listen, I can fight the middleweight any time and I'll get round to him, but me and Ngannou's the biggest fight in the world right now and needs to happen while he's available. This'll be the first time the best boxer's fought the best UFC fighter. Look at Tommy and the interest he's got. The world's moving on and boxing's gonna be left behind, and I'll be representing boxing when I beat him, so all these moaning fans should be happy to see it.”

Usyk and Joyce are bang in their primes at the minute, but both at an age where their peaks could vanish after a punishing fight or two. This time next year they might've been through wars and faded. So again, if you're advising Fury it's all very obvious. He wouldn't sacrifice much money, and he'd probably win more fans from UFC than he'd lose from boxing.

Because what's legacy in a diminishing sport when adjacent enterprises are surging past it in popularity? We care, and Usyk cares, but it's not gonna hurt Fury's rep with casuals to avoid him in favour of Ngannou, who'll even be regarded as superior by most. Usyk's tremendous and we know it, but he's not nearly as fan-friendly as the big man. Even at cruiser he didn't crack like Gassiev, Dorticos, Briedis and others.

Re: John's vid, he starts off saying that Tyson deserves the lion's share, but then says he's tired of wrangling over who's the A-side and just wants to fight. One or the other, John.

The world might be changing, but not even causals are going to buy that Ngannou is a fight worthy of Usyk stepping aside for.

Even the causals are turning against Fury now. Check out social media.

Heavyweight fights gain massive attention. UFC hasn’t usurped that yet.

Surely, if Fury goes down the Ngannou route, the WBC should strip him. It wouldn't be right having a non boxer with no prior boxing experience fighting for a version of the Heavyweight title. This would allow Uysk the chance to unify against someone else.

Ultimately, though, if Fury bolts it, which is looking likely, then Uysk is the man at Heavyweight: he holds 3 of the belts and drove the other title holder into cowardice.

The Ngannou option sounds fun, but obviously the bouts against Usyk and Joyce are in priority. Fury has some business before such fun stuff. And with fights being made so slowly, there will be some comers deserving a shot by the moment the situation with Usyk and Joyce clears. In addition to everything Joshua ain't done yet.

AJ-Francis is being mentioned a lot, mainly by Hearn. Francis has already said Fury’s advisors have told his people that they are focused on the Usyk fight.
