@Ana Maribel,

stop posting your weight division requests here in this thread, please. This thread is dedicated to discussion about the BoxRec ratings only.

The BoxRec editors assign a boxer to a weight division due to their last fights - or due to the change request of the boxer or his manager, if they want to compete in an other weight division in future.

Please post your request as a TOPIC in the forum Record Queries & Updates:

Are we never getting the numerical ratings back? It's seeming less and less likely as time goes on.

After a while, I think, it is a good solution to show the rankings only.

Always when I had to adapt the ratings algorithm, the pure numbers often might have changed a lot technically, but often not really important for the ranking. In spite of that it generated a lot of unproductive discussions.

So the current solution with showing the raw ratings at bout time only in the boxer record seems the best to me as a relative indicator for the career development of a boxer's ratings.

1) Is it possible to see even the star ratings on the fighter pages? I see bout ratings, but not ratings for the 2 fighters in the bout.

2) One big problem is the lack of ability to compare between divisions. Like previously if I saw a guy had 100 points and I could see the ratings of the divisions above and below him, I could get a vague sense of where he'd fit in if he moved up or down. Now, I can't.

A good compromise would be to show the ratings for people who choose to see them. They add a lot of information, and the public-facing database is poorer without them.

I strongly agree with this. Would like an opt-in to see the numerical ratings.

Numerical ratings are a useful debate-solver.
There are people who claim "a shot Lennox beat a prime Vitali!"
There are others who argue "a prime Lennox went life and death with a super-green Vitali!"
Having numerical ratings can give us a better idea of the real context around fights.

There is nothing hidden currently:

- Look at the ratings of both at time of their clash: Lewis 464.9 Lewvs Klitschko 140.1 => Lewis clearly rated higher at that point
- It was Lewis' career high rating, so he was on top of his fighting strength
- Klitschko was on his way up and reached his top rating 7 years later with 605.0.

How do you view ratings at the time of the fight? I don't see it on the fighter pages any more.

Just above the list of bouts on the fighter's page you can click on the icon "ratings on/off" in order to see the ratings/or not ...

I can't see points ratings anywhere. Not on fighter pages, not on event pages, not on bout pages.
There's no option to toggle either. I've tried Firefox and Chrome.

Yea when I look at the fighter pages I don't see any ratings option. Maybe you have a special account that gives you that ability?

I do see a "display ratings" dropdown in my account settings page, but as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to actually do anything.

If you go to the upper right corner of the BoxRec main page there's a little "person" icon you can click on that has some account settings.

I have tried changing the option in my preferences, switching to yes then no then yes again but it has no effect.
It has been reported for months (see my message above from july, I even tried creating a second account to see if that solved the problem)) that this feature is no longer working, at least for basic users (which I am). All we can see are rankings (not ratings), I mean by that, for example, that in one upcoming fight, Yves Ulysse Jr is #28 and Gabriel Goillaz Valenzuela is #42. On the page of a boxer, the current ranking is present again on top (along with the national ranking, Ulysse being #1 in Canada). But there is no column featuring the rating for the boxers, no option to display ratings on/off, and no effect when changing that option on profile settings.
