I doubt it will happen. Haymon will find a way to put him with Wilder, who seems to have this pie in the sky dreams he can get Usyk next.
Ironically I envision a fourth fight with Fury if you look at the roadmap between TR and PBC. Wilder (and Usyk to a degree) seen to be the only ones with balls to square up against Fury. Maybe Joyce if the money is right.
Hergovic was gifted the Zhang fight as we all know. I see:
Fury Vs Usyk (Fury win)
Wilder Vs Ruiz (Wilder win)
Joyce Vs Hergovic (Joyce win)
AJ Vs Franklin (AJ win)
From there, the top two (Wilder and Fury) will square up and as much of a Wilder fan I am, styles (to be cliche) Fury wins.

Zhang is a front runner. Not a Briggs style, but his age is just that. Would love to see Zhang and Ortiz knuckle up. Someone going to sleep before 4 rounds (and imagine it would be Zhang). Still interesting fight IMHO.
The HW division is ripe at the moment. We all know that division drives the bus for boxing so these promoters need to seize the moment and more importantly STOP the PPVs. What ever happened to #FreeBoxing4All ? I have been a fan going in 50 (FIFTY!) years now and I’m telling you PPV will put us back in to the 90’s. Let UFC sucker down and ruin itself with PPV, but free boxing will generate more revenue over time for fighters IMO. Okay there is my rant. Ugh.

I'm not putting too much in the today's Ortiz, but overall his resume is much better than Zhang's one, that's obvious as f8ck.

Ortiz has Jennings, Thompson, Hammer and Martin, which isn't stellar, but overcomes Zhang's resume, which has only f8cken Andriy Rudenko and a draw against Jerry Forrest.

Bringing up a silver medal at Olympics of 2008 is also ridculous. It was 15 years ago FFS, in the amateur boxing. Now Zhang is a 40 year old pro-fighter, who barely got rid of a can diet.

Either way, if Wilder looks elsewhere, maybe Ngannou, Whyte or Joshua, then we could see Ruiz against Hrgovic for the Interim IBF title or should he choose to go for the WBC mandatory then his opponents would be, in this order, Sanchez/Makhmudov/Joshua/Whyte.

An interesting turn of events could create some other interesting matchups but I think I'd still rather see Ruiz against Wilder, though I don't want to see Wilder fight Fury or for the WBC belt anytime again soon.
