Better value than Fury Chisora to be fair, ar lease the outcome is unknown
why bother paying 20 quid when it will be all over YT etc within minutes of the bell .
Some events you just have to witness live...
For you, that’s ALL events. You don’t miss any do you?

Not a bad thing at all.

I used to try and watch everything I could live.

I just don’t have the patience to wait for relays or spoilers

Presumably they anticipate losing and Tommy Fury retiring to live a happy life on the money.

I've not seen much of Jake Paul but if he struggled with Anderson Silva then Carl Froch will turn him into a cabbage even without a camp

Mickey, a few serious questions....

Are you interested in all aspects of gypsy culture or just boxing?
When did you first become interested?
Do you have any relatives who are gypsies?

There's nothing malicious about my questions and I don't have an agenda.

Ok, Keith. On the Fury family..... a lot of my posts are very tongue in cheek, it's impossible to have a reasonable debate on here because it is so ridiculously anti Fury. None of my family are gypsies and neither are most of my friends, probably a lot less since i stopped drinking. My best and oldest friends both are but dont really live the life, live in houses, married non travellers. I am godparent to one of their sons. They are Henry Whartons brother and cousin and we are all the same age and go right back to nursery together, long before Henry boxed. As for the other travelling lads, i think it would be impossible to follow the sport to the extent i have all my life, especially in the amateurs and not not know an awful lot of gypy kids. I also know hundreds of non gypsy boxers but that gets overlooked. If i mention Hopey Price, it's not because of his background, i was friends with everyone at his amateur gym before he was born! My best friend in boxing is Graham Fearn, a retired journeyman. I have said all this before but nobody cares unless it is about Tyson. Whilst people accuse me of being deluded when it comes to Tyson, i am not, i am aware of his shortcomings just like anyone else, i just play along for the sake of Boxrec. Some posters, though, if they genuinely believe Tyson is that bad then it says a lot more about them than me. The fact the wins against long undefeated Wlad in Germany and undefeated Wilder in America get criticized is bizarre. Even the Chisora 1 fight, in his backyard, was a very good win. And giving McDermott an immediate rematch after a very controversial win. This forum screams out for fighters to do stuff like that. The 17 year old Tyson losing to Price is brought up FFS. Lennox lost to Biggs but it never gets mentioned. As for the culture, what have i said? Any passing comments are maybe something i have just picked up along the way.
ps if you were at any of the shows in the Wharton days, his fans came from all across society, nowhere near all gypsy.

Exactly. Proving amateur results mean little in the pros, unless trying to discredit Bowe or Fury…

Yes, but Fury gets stick for avoiding Price, vacating the British title rather than take on the last Brit to defeat him.
You can hardly give Lewis stick for taking on someone who previously defeated him, so it's not really a good comparison at all.

They've never fought at the same weight professionally.
I thought you followed boxing Mickey?
Usyk's either been a Cruiserweight or Heavyweight, the guy's the same size as Paris Fury. Porter's just a Welterweight.

I can only imagine this is one of your tongue in cheek responses.

How has your life changed / improved since you stopped the peeve? How long have you been sober? I did 2 months for a £500 bet end of October to Christmas. Looking back life was slower paced bit probably the most enjoyable 2 months of last year. I’m giving serious consideration to knocking it on the head full-time.

More to come during the City game tomorrow and Utd vs Barca on Thursday.

serious QUESTION who has picked a winner based on actually seeing these two fight , i could'nt pick a winner because i've never actually seen any of them fight ,, yet there more well known than most world champs , Crazy is'nt it

But if i was a matchmaker looking for a even fight for a local show , suppose i would readily match theses two , does'nt seem much in there records

To be fair to Jake Paul, I’ve often had the perception that he looks half knackered in his fights after the first couple of rounds, but rewatching the Silva fight he kept a pretty good pace going. Ate up some solid digs too.

HomicideHenry wrote: 21 Feb 2023, 02:59 I can believe there is an element of truth to the claim that Tommy Fury is some sort of beast in the gym only because there is a phenomenon in combat sports where guys simply are really good in the gyms but for whatever reason under the bright lights of the arena they're not as good.

I'm reminded of an old friend of mine by the name of Brian Paul and a couple of fighters that he managed like Dean Nichols. When you look at their records they are pretty pitiful but in the gym they looked incredible. But for some reason in actual contests that confidence or those capabilities just wasn't there when it was for real.

From what little bit I've seen of Tommy Fury fight I haven't been impressed but I can believe that a guy in his own home gym would feel a lot more confident and relaxed and would perform better than he would in some auditorium or arena.
im hoping this amount of pressure on fury doesnt tell and hope he handles it well and beats paul id love to see an end to jake paul fighting id say more than 50 % of people that watch him now just want to see him knocked out and the others rest are just young impressionable fans of his , im not knocking him for whats his done with the money etc he generates but just the bs that he comes out with
