1987 Mike Tyson vs 2022 Usyk - how this fight would pan out?

So I could see Usyk going the distance, however he would have faced a ferocious attack.

Great question. Great fight. Usyk has a solid chin and is a master boxer. Tyson’s speed at that age I believe carries the day. Usyk is very difficult to beat and his southpaw style could be a problem as well. Tyson was so fast with that great head movement. What a match up. Two hall of famers.

You're not wrong, but Tyson's style could be what very well pushes Usyk to his limits. Interesting fight.

Slightly off the rails Tyson, slightly shop worn Holyfield.
So a fresher Uysk Vs a peak Tyson I think would be a close decision going to Uysk.
Tyson was a wrecking ball in his prime but only if guys stood in front of him, Uysk has as good, if not better movement than Holyfield.

Usyk would be too smart to take this fight on for anything less than a tech giants ransom.

Tyson v Tucker was as close to Tyson v Ali as we got, and even then TNT had to dance a dangerous tightrope all night. Tucker was brilliant that particular night, and he had to be.

Usyk would be unlikely to do much better but it's not unthinkable that he could survive a very difficult 12 rounds.

It's almost criminal just how much he is underrated.

That 2nd fight with AJ might just be the most impressive one in the post Mike Tyson era.

I think Tyson would just hit the air and waste a lot of his energy with his neurotic peek a boo style. Usyk is a fine matador with great defense and footwork. Usyk is a strong fighter too.

However, Tyson would be better than anybody Usyk faced to this point and the Ukrainian hasn't indeed been pushed to the limit yet.

We saw Usyk being thrown in the uncomfortable quarters by Chisora and Joshua, while Tyson obviously was much more relentless, durable and fast than these two.

Judging by what we've seen from Usyk up to the date, I think it would be similar to the Tucker bout, but closer on official cards. Tyson's fast closings of the distance would be too much for Usyk, although the Ukrainian would be able to avoid clean shots on the most of occasions.

Luckily for Usyk, Tyson was great in closing the distance, but he wasn't a really good inside fighter, so there always would be clinches after Mike's attacks. Furthermore, Usyk can take a punch, thus it's fair to see the fight going the full distance.
