Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
I answered Whyte on the pole because it was July… but if he is skipping that fight then Fury, wilder, or try scam his way into a vacant title shot.
Whyte and miller would still be fun, just a big wait for one of them.

Covid started in early 2020 & he was waiting on a date for the first Joshua fight & then a date for the 2nd Joshua fight.BigDoofus wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 04:02He’s managed a fight a year since 2020.ashall2 wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 03:27 The length in time between Joshua’s fights in the last 5 years have been ridiculous.

Completely different scenarios. Joshua’s always been in the position to dictate when he’s fighting. He’s choosing to have long breaks between fights even before Covid & more recently.

When was the last time TBA had a good win ?
And is TBA better than TBC ?

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
And quite right too. Its in their job title: prize fighter.
Boxers deserve the biggest of paydays given that their health will most certainly be affected and that's before they've even stepped in the ring. CTE particularly from sparring is inevitable.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
It’s over four and a half years since he boxed Bellew. He’s had 4 fights with nothing scheduled. You can’t blame it all on Covid.a force wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 05:51Covid started in early 2020 & he was waiting on a date for the first Joshua fight & then a date for the 2nd Joshua fight.BigDoofus wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 04:02He’s managed a fight a year since 2020.ashall2 wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 03:27 The length in time between Joshua’s fights in the last 5 years have been ridiculous.

I haven’t. I’ve just put that he was waiting on Matchroom to sort out both Joshua fights.BigDoofus wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 07:37It’s over four and a half years since he boxed Bellew. Do you think Hearn & Matchroom would’ve allowed him to have a tickover fight whilst he was mandatory challenger & then under contract with them for a rematch? Of course not.
Usyk’s not the one who’s coming into the ring, performing poorly & then blaming it on inactivity despite holding all the cards. That’s Joshua.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
Good luck to you TBA.
You may have knocked him down in sparring, but you're seriously up against vs AJ !
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
Him only boxing Witherspoon in 2019 was nothing to do with COVID or Matchroom.a force wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 07:48I haven’t. Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
But what argument are you making? Joshua & Hearn have constantly said he’ll perform better when he’s more active, that he was going to fight 3 times this year, that they hold all the cards etcBigDoofus wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 08:08Him only boxing Witherspoon in 2019 was nothing to do with COVID or Matchroom.a force wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 07:48I haven’t. Usyk’s not under performing & has never said he’ll fight more often or made excuses about inactivity for performances.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA | DAZN - December 2023
Good note. I can't consider Fury as a serious champion after all his comedies. Usyk looks the real deal in comparison to him, BUT!Him only boxing Witherspoon in 2019 was nothing to do with COVID or Matchroom
If we look at the Cat's heavyweight career, he's been inactive for a long time prior to COVID and the war. There were talks about fighting Povetkin, Helenius, Takam and a bunch of other names, but in the end of the day they took Witherspoon. And he had been holding the WBO mandatory status all the time.
Now he's stalling again. Why not sign some average top-contender on a short notice for April 29th? It's normal practice for the champion. Wilder and Joshua did the same in similar situations.

When he’s held all the cards he’s chosen Boomer, Witherspoon, Chisora….

Strange crack from AJ, talking like he has no control over his career whatsoever.
Twice a year is the absolute par for top boxers now though. Even young, rising stars stop taking 3+ fights a calender once they take any sort of meaningful 12 rounders.

All three took rounds off him as well.
