Its a fighter that earns a mandatory spot, and then promoters bid. IF sky didnt want to bid thats fine, the purse bid should still go ahead. if matchroom put in a bid thats big enough to entice frazer then he takes the fight, or a third party bid of coarse. .

Purse bids are amazing for settling things, you cant just have promoters sabotaging that concept.

This is where boxing sucks. Clarke should be able to go and fight Wardley on a Matchroom show but it’d most likely end in a load of legal nonsense.

Technically it would be Clarke’s decision but he will be doing it under the advice of Boxxer and 258 is my reading of it.

Clarke has been made to look like a clown, his team have bottled a fight with Wardley....a fight on paper that he'd surely be the favourite to win.

Shalom floundering and fumbling around is hardly a great look and I'm sure other boxers have taken note

Won't it be more like his contract is for X fights or Y years exclusive to sky? Then Z £ per fight (probably going up each one?)

Promoters can bid all the money they want but if Clarke sold his next fight to Sky Sports for a couple grand last year then what can you do....

I think he’s on more than a couple…. That’s why they don’t want him getting filled in on DAZN.

Most contracts can’t block a fighter going to the away corner of there are purse bids. (From what I’ve heard), Otherwise purse bids would be useless. If it turns out boxer are putting the power into there contracts it’s a shitshow….

If it was down to Sky contracts I’d imagine that BS would have brought that up before today.

The fighter has a choice, if he doesn't, then he is with the wrong people.

Clarke's management team where the one's who chased up this title shot, so someone somewhere else in the set up didn't want it.

Shalom is the one that seemed least interested in it to me.

The Connor Benn stuff is probably the biggest boxing public relations disaster I've ever seen but Hearn is right about this situation, it is bizarre, looking forward to hearing Shalom and Fraizer

So Shalom comes onto the scene claiming he’s going to change things and work with everybody… but when push comes to shove he’s more of the same.

Clarke was really angry earlier this week. Now we know why.

As far as I remember, contracts typically couldn’t exclude a boxer appearing on somebody else’s show, particularly in a purse bid situation.

The stipulation would generally be that the promoter of the away boxer would get a cut of the purse as compensation.

In reality the promoter would talk his man out of it, with promises of other fights/purses. I think this has happened here. If Clark really wanted to fight, he could, but it would cause a rift.

Hearn’s said he’d like a purse bud for Wardley v Adeleye and to be fair Adeleye called for that. With Adeleye’s next fight 4 weeks away he’s hardly going to be getting in there with a big test. A 10 rounder vs Rydell Booker is probably the most we can hope for there.

dont see how clarke would be a favourite to win frankly .
wardley is faster more agressive and has better pro experience whilst clarke is lumbering slow and finding his feet in the pro ranks .

DDD is in negotiations for Usyk and if they can’t get a deal finalised then there will be purse bids for it.

He’s position is a few levels ahead of Wardley at the moment.

I feel a bit for 'Big Fraze' as he's a good talker and clearly keen. But he's been royally mugged off here by someone who has popped up out of nowhere and appears greener than the Hulk's pet frog

It will be hard to take Frazer seriously again after this duck.

This is comically bad damage limitation here. Talking out his arse and nobody is believing it. Not a good look as a relative newbie on the scene.

1. Clarke is not the A side at this stage.
2. If he would beat Wardley I'm his first fight then why not in his sixth?
3. It's purse bids. You win the bid and you get to dictate terms.
4. He has to increase from 6 rounders at some stage, if he's so good then Wardley would be easy work for a 10/12 rounder.

258 management gurus have a hand in this and are so far totally absent from the discussion .
They wanted clarke to be given the mando in the first place and lobbied the board to get it .
