He faced and beat some of these opponents three times and lost for the only time when he inexplicably decided to fight outside of Mexico...

Re: Most padded record?
that's absolutely bizarre! there must've been 100 heavyweights more deserving of a title shot than he was when he faced holyfield.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 07:18 And the winner is..................

Re: Most padded record?

one couldn't make that shit up if u wanted too.

Re: Most padded record?
Bean was a boring MF too. The Moorer fight was fairly close because Moorer kept falling alseep on Bean's shoulder during clinches. Padded and boring is a bad combination

Re: Most padded record?
De Mori's record makes for shocking reading. There were times when he was fairly highly ranked too but it was based entirely on his win/loss record and ignored the fact that he has never beaten anybody of any note.Lackeos wrote: ↑22 Oct 2022, 16:36 Mark De Mori, 40-2-2, ranked #298 https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/237842
Now in his 40s, De Mori is still fighting circus freaks in empty venues.

On his Instagram, De Mori makes these lofty claims :
"Former World Heavyweight Champion (WBU & WBF) Current Indonesian Champion"

Technically it’s true, but we know the true worth of these baubles…Redback Rasta wrote: ↑06 Jun 2023, 22:52On his Instagram, De Mori makes these lofty claims :

In fact, I’m fairly sure I remember that he won titles like the UBO and GBU as well when he was knocking out Czech taxi drivers, perhaps even he is too ashamed to mention those!

Re: Most padded record?
I realize there is every likely hood they are true. I was just taking the pi55 about the value of the titles and the irony that De Mori is not just the Indonesian champion, but bragging about the fact :lol:chinarich wrote: ↑07 Jun 2023, 12:39Technically it’s true, but we know the true worth of these baubles…Redback Rasta wrote: ↑06 Jun 2023, 22:52On his Instagram, De Mori makes these lofty claims :

I did a Boxrec search of active Indonesian heavyweights and it didn't return a single find. So De Mori's reign is likely to be long.

Re: Most padded record?
that's what the joke was about that de mori 'cleaned out the division' which consists of that one single natural super middle skinny fat indonesian 220 pound 6' 3' guy as sole heavyweight in all of indonesia whose name i can't recall that demori beat for the claim of indonesian 'heavyweight champ'.
that indonesion guy is also banned indefinitely by the japanese boxing commision, only god knows why.

The way he reacted after he lost suggests there could be something a bit amiss with him. He has been knocked out 16 times and that can't be good for you.

Fabio Maldonado at 26-0 was very padded. Fight #23 was against a guy who was 1-0 !

Re: Most padded record?
I heard George Collins had a weak resume but on close examination it isn't horrendous. Warren was high on him.
Re: Most padded record?
I remember Dubois was being hyped for fighting Fujimoto, as he was the Japanese HW champ. You look and realise there are only 3 and fujimoto had lost to Ishida who was a light middle weight at one stage.
Fujimoto is a kick boxer now and allegedly doing well.

Re: Most padded record?
Fujimoto was a kickboxing prior to his boxing career which then seemed to come off the back of his increased platform which he gained from Kickboxing (I believe). He actually had a very successful kickboxing resume given how small it was prior to competing in boxing, having wins over big names such as Saki and Le Banner.
Re: Most padded record?
I wouldn't step outside with him. I don't think Japan have much presence in the heavier weights in boxing but they've got some real greats in the lower weights and some good kickboxers etcjoshj909 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2023, 12:50Fujimoto was a kickboxing prior to his boxing career which then seemed to come off the back of his increased platform which he gained from Kickboxing (I believe). Re: Most padded record?
His wins were as padded as padded can get. No question there. But Bean could go rounds in losing efforts with the top guys which is more than we can say for most guys with padded records.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 07:18 And the winner is..................

Re: Most padded record?
Agree in most cases - but there are exceptions, e.g. Wilfred Benitez's WBA light-welter title win over Antonio Cervantes.joshj909 wrote: ↑22 Oct 2022, 16:53He was also 20-0 by the time he was 18. Nobody has faced world level savages in the pro ranks at 17.
Re: Most padded record?
Buck's record worked rather differently, and was a splendid creation. Jim Brady's book "Boxing Confidential" explains it all - in short, there were a number of fighters who adopted various aliases when fighting each other (having often all travelled in the same car to the show) to create large winning records and use them to gain more major fights.
Re: Most padded record?
At one point he went on a winning run of just over 100 fights, with a couple of no contests.

If you can put raw numbers together, like Bean's 31-1, the fact that you have beaten nobody doesn't seem to matter. A similar case was Mark De Mori when he got the Haye fight. De Mori had strung together 30-1-2, beating nobody, but with the right timing and a push where it matters, wallah!
