Conor Benn - What Next?
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Gary Sykes ex trainer has good videos.
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
That's interesting, there are studies that show it may be possible to distinguish the two. For example https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35341524/Blueprint wrote: ↑05 Jul 2023, 15:11They doctor in that video cited a study commissioned by Wada. Apparently they produce different metabolytes to one another. Apparently Benns's metaboloytes are consistent with the egg contamination athletes.
Question now then is: how sound is the conclusion that his metabolites are consistent with egg contamination rather than doping? That'll depend heavily on the test results themselves, and what his team has tested to determine which metabolites were present at the time of the failed test (bearing in mind that up until now, their case has been that the VADA samples - the ones that matter - must have been contaminated).

Apparently UKAD set to rule on this next week. Funny how there is sudden urgency now.
As I said before, he will be fighting by the end of the year, probably against Eubank.

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
I wonder how thorough UKAD will be/can be given the timeframe of this new evidence. Surprisingly Simon Jordan appeared to be taken in by the new story as a potentially justifiable reason for clomiphene being in Benn’ system but from what the ‘expert’ said it’s based on new research. How can UKAD try and corroborate that next week if there’s no discussions/sharing of information at the moment?Frostieballs wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 07:37 Apparently UKAD set to rule on this next week. Either way, there will be a fudge if required. A lifting of suspension whilst evidence is reviewed.
This is all too familiar.

Or could it be Simon knows or been told if he does'nt lay off a bit on his interviews , there will be NO interviews anymore ,maverick23 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 09:35I wonder how thorough UKAD will be/can be given the timeframe of this new evidence. Benn will have his ban back dated. He will be fighting before the end of the year. It's all wanks and stains

It’s not like they’ve been giving TalkSPORT loads of interviews. They probably asked to go TalkSPORT as it probably generates more views/listens than the vast bulk of other routes.coneye wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 11:07Or could it be Simon knows or been told if he does'nt lay off a bit on his interviews , there will be NO interviews anymore ,maverick23 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 09:35I wonder how thorough UKAD will be/can be given the timeframe of this new evidence. They’ve pivoted as a team to trying to stay away from the media with regardless to the rationale behind the failures to seemingly now seeking it to push the new narrative.
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Will say i enjoy watching them , i don't watch all talk sports i'm not in Britain but enjoyed what i've seen especielly when Simon gets his nose to the ground , reminds me of a terrier , he'll keep trying till he gets what he wantsmaverick23 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 14:40It’s not like they’ve been giving TalkSPORT loads of interviews. Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Presumably he’s grabbed a tribunal date, following the process Amir Khan found himself in. Knowing UKAD I don’t see less than 2 years. I don’t see why it wouldn’t necessarily be 3 or 4 years.
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
That twitter thread is proof, if need be, that there's a whole lot of stupid/gullible/arsekissing (any or all)people in the world. Apparently someone who has failed 2 drugs tests is innocent

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
I think Jordan's level is enthusiastic casual, but he has a good amount of reach and clearly loves the game. I'd rather have him asking the questions than, say, IFL.coneye wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 18:12Will say i enjoy watching them , i don't watch all talk sports i'm not in Britain but enjoyed what i've seen especielly when Simon gets his nose to the ground , reminds me of a terrier , he'll keep trying till he gets what he wantsmaverick23 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 14:40It’s not like they’ve been giving TalkSPORT loads of interviews. Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
I don't know anyone who isn't heartily sick of this saga still being around.
Hearn was telling anyone who would listen 'wait until the the truth comes out' very shortly after the truth did come out, the truth that Benn had tested positive twice. Since then this 'truth' Hearn was promising has changed flavour about 4 times.
Surely the powers that be won't swallow this bullsh1t story being offered, as 'proof' of Benn's innocence?

Forget a weight drained Eubank JR
Forget a semi retired Kell
Forget an old man like Paq
Go for it…
Fight Boots
Nah. Right division. No advantage. No upside
C’mon Eggie, make a fight like this.

UKAD don’t really do less than 2 years. An ice hockey player recently got an 18 month add-on to an 8 year ban just for doing some ice hockey coaching. I see no way on earth that Benn gets treated more leniently than Khan. So that surely at best he gets to fight a warm up at the end of 2024.

I now think Benn will fight Eubank this year…
just the way ed keeps saying stuff like “hasn’t been a big brittish fight like this booked since benn vs eubank” and other comments like that while talking about AJ Vs Whyte. Seen him do it a few times, seems to be on his mind and he seems to wanna keep mentioning how big it was…

Khan, from what I read, offered no real excuse for his drug test failure.
Enzo Maccarinelli got 6 months I think for his failure as he was clearly able to justify it. I think, regardless of what we think of it, this will be similar and he’ll get something like 6 months.

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
You might be right. Is the hearing actually this week? I just wonder with Clomifene whether it will attract that much leniency. If UKAD don’t want it much weight on the elaborate egg theory, historically in other sports Clomifene - the well-known masking agent - is usually associated with 3-4 year bans. But I guess we’ll find out soon-ish now if Benn has engineered a soft sentence or not.maverick23 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 04:03The UKAD case is only being heard this week.polecateddy wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 02:35I think if that was a likely outcome it would have happened a long time ago for Conor. My T Sharp wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 02:11
