Cuevas gets caught on the ropes and KO’d a couple of rounds later than in 1983

Roberto the Great knocks out Cuevas.

It would have been a great fight. A phenomenal slugfest. But, Roberto Duran's all around technical game was superior to Pipino Cuevas and that's where is the difference.

I think that if Cuevas would have unified the welter crowns with Carlos Palomino, Palomino would have taken him, too! Palomino was very underrated.

You gotta have more than a hell of a punch to beat one of the greatest boxers that ever happened in this life. The Hands of Stone was better. How much better? I don't know. But he was much better.

There was never a time when Duran wouldn't have beaten Cuevas. I figure 1977 or so would've been when it would've been toughest for Duran.

Even then I think he still ultimately wins by KO.
