He was up at 8 or 9, he made the count and the ref pulled it. That's not quitting.gregregegg wrote: ↑26 Aug 2023, 18:29I refuse to call it a quit if you were up by 10 facing the ref.. I dont think he wanted to continue but he did get up in time and faced up to the ref.

Yeah I think he thought I've earned my money tonight that'll do.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Aug 2023, 18:30That’s what boxers do. Unless the referee briefed them pre-fight that Usyk's trunks were high and he was drawing a line lower than normal, that is a low blow.

We can't but hope, I think he will fancy it now too.

Right on the belt line for me. Ref was very lenient. Then again usyk clearly better but his body is a weakness. Aj hurt him too.

And the difference in protection between our lower abs and pelvis. Whether it would've stopped him as a legal shot is the curious thing. If not yes, I'm certain it would've turned the round into a scramble.

it was on the beltline if we ignore the 2/3 of dub's glove that was below the belt line

They're making too much about this low blow, Usyk probably gets up if its counted.

If the fight had taken place in the UK it would have been a more clinical performance from Usyk imo.
A wet ring is truly horrible if you're a mover. You could se him having to square up to Dubois and mistiming his punches
Hopefully this will encourage Fury to make the fight.

Correct. Bad luck for Dubois because it was a great shot but it is low.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑26 Aug 2023, 18:34 it was on the beltline if we ignore the 2/3 of dub's glove that was below the belt line

another usyk fight where people get hysterical. ref counts it and he may well react differently. dubois won maybe a round and got stopped.

Mike's correct. It was low. No question.

exactly, people are being willfully ignorant to keep saying it was above or on the belt

you can pause the shot pretty clearly. half his glove was on the beltline, half his glove was below it. in my eyes thats not a legal shot, but iv seen them called legal plenty.
Hard to say what hurt him, the effects to the body, or pulling the cup up into his nuts, but yea i see it as technicaly low, correct call by the ref, but often allowed to play on in other fights.
