Re: Ben Shalom
Is Eubank with boxxer or wasserman? Feel like theres a few paydays available for him. Smith trillogy, Benn, Brook, any actualy belt holder....
Re: Ben Shalom
Surely he won't do that silly weight draining bollox again with Con-a-Benn .gregregegg wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 07:48 Is Eubank with boxxer or wasserman? Feel like theres a few paydays available for him. Smith trillogy, Benn, Brook, any actualy belt holder....

Re: Ben Shalom
A fight with Brook will surely be on Sky Sports.
CEJ is linked with them and Brook is unattached.

Re: Ben Shalom
Surely a candidate for worst PPV of all time. I wouldn't bother dissecting the undercard it was bad enough but even the main event was a farce with one man refusing to throw or engage most likely injured.
Time for Sky to leave Boxing and stop conning fans these PPVs and shows are a disgrace.

Re: Ben Shalom
I no longer pay for PPV, because Sky refuse to throw fights out when they are clearly not good enough for a PPV card.
I am sorry to say boxing on sky tv is in my view a sorry state. The worst its been.
Whilst I acknowledge Shalom is the promoter, I firmly believe its up to Sky to ensure the quality of bouts is up to standard.

He's with Wasserman mate, has been with Sauerlands since 2017 iirc and now Wasserman not it's bought them.gregregegg wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 07:48 Is Eubank with boxxer or wasserman? Feel like theres a few paydays available for him. Smith trillogy, Benn, Brook, any actualy belt holder....

Re: Ben Shalom
Yeh. Wasserman have the deal with CH5 for their stable. Eubank was also the exception. Majority of his fights have been on Sky Sports. They just work with Boxxer for that.642368 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 15:34He's with Wasserman mate, has been with Sauerlands since 2017 iirc and now Wasserman not it's bought them.gregregegg wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 07:48 Is Eubank with boxxer or wasserman? He’s with Wasserman but doesn’t have a TV deal so could fight on any network.gregregegg wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 07:48 Is Eubank with boxxer or wasserman? Feel like theres a few paydays available for him. Smith trillogy, Benn, Brook, any actualy belt holder....

Re: Ben Shalom
I bought the PPV (wasn’t planning on it but ended up having the house to myself). It was one of those that was better on paper than in reality.
It wasn’t an improved Dave Allen as we’d been hoping for and the Azim fight didn’t catch fire.
I enjoyed the Cullen fight (always do) but the Mayer fight was a bit of a waste of time on a Sky sports PPV.
Then the main wasn’t competitive.
Some of it isn’t Boxxer’s fault (the Allen/Azim fights) and I get they did they Mayer fight to build a Jonas fight and it was probably free and they wouldn’t have known the main was going to be so one sided.
I have more issue with the 13 weeks between U.K. boxing shows on regular Sky sports and then coming back with a NextGen. I’d be surprised if there’s ever been a gap as long (except in covid).

Re: Ben Shalom
He's not even a good bullshitter.
It is even more mysterious how he went from organising student nights (that weren't financially successful) one week to signing an exclusive deal with Sky the following week.
There is something not right somewhere.

Re: Ben Shalom
Since I tried sticking up for Shalom, I have to concede it seems I am in the minority.
I am starting to sway and am getting p*ssed off with the standard of boxing on Sky TV …
I have already said Shalom has put together an excellent team, John Wichusen is his head of boxing and Ed Roff is his event management bloke … the reason why I mention that is because its no
Good stating the promotional team is out of their depth …Wichusen did an outstanding job at matchroom and Roff was outstanding at what he did at the WBSS & Sauerland.
Shalom has people in positions he can lean on.
So I am asking why on earth are things so wrong with boxing on sky tv?

Re: Ben Shalom
I think you have to point to shaloms inexperience and overall lack of any boxing background plus trying to compete against eddie & old fish eyes from a pretty weak position in terms of a stable .Spud wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023, 13:25 Since I tried sticking up for Shalom, I have to concede it seems I am in the minority.

Add the stupid behaviour around riakhpore / opetai and clark / wardley which has left them wide open to critical comment.
Then we get a total rip off ppv for smith v eubank after which shalom admits on tv he saw smith weeks ago looking huge and wondered how he would ever get the weight off .... naive or what !
This is whats out in the public domain so whats been going on behind closed doors will be anyones guess.

He’d promoted 4 shows or so before the Sky deal. I remember one being on BT. Can’t remember what channel the others were on.
They probably saw Shalom as someone that they could potentially mould into something whilst they’d (Adam Smirh) essentially have a lot more input.
Hasn’t worked out that way this year.

I’d be happier being annoyed with the standard. I can’t though as the last U.K. show on Sky Sports was 8-9 weeks ago.Spud wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023, 13:25 Since I tried sticking up for Shalom, I have to concede it seems I am in the minority.

What a silly comment. How about well done Hearn for testing fighters. Shalom hasn't got a clue, sneaky as they come and well out of his depth. Snakesi7dog7 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2023, 16:02 Maybe give the guy a break

If you want sports as a package then SKY isn’t a bad deal
You want just boxing in UK. Come on now. It don’t exist
DAZN struggles in UK. Coz it is US focused.
Get real people. Eddie went for the Yankee Dollar. Canelo, and selling, yet again, AJ.
