I'd drop him a few places for that. He'll be ranked below the guy he best 3 years ago. What a career trajectory
Agree.
Frank is putting the tragedy in trajectory.
Ok.. much better

The other fight would see Frank Sanchez (23-0, 16 KO) take on Junior Fa (20-2, 11 KO). Cuba’s Sanchez, 31, has been sitting at the same level for far too long, and other than a pretty good win over Efe Ajagba in 2021, his matchmaking has been extremely lackluster.

Fa, 34, won’t exactly be the contender people want to see Sanchez face, but at least it’s a better matchup than Scott Alexander or Daniel Martz. Fa lost a 12-round decision to Joseph Parker in early 2021, and 16 months later returned for a shocking TKO-1 loss to Lucas Browne in Melbourne.

jeez , fa got splatted in 1 by lucas browne two fights ago. his only win since was vs an 0-6 dude. his name is literally never brought up in discussions about what fights ppl would like to see. he didnt get a single vote to make our top 15

he doesn't cut it either, just more bleh for frank

So what do we do with Wilder now that he has a scheduled fight? Do we reinstate him, or we wait to do that after the fight?

wait till he fights , it was still over a year inactivee when it was announced and he still could get injured or something. then we can also take into account his performance when voting him back in

Parker would be his best scalp perhaps.

Let’s see what more votes do.
In the last 2-3 days there was only 1 new vote that didn’t change anything.

And now we have 6 heavyweight fights scheduled on dec 23.
7 out of 15 from the current Top 15 standings + Wilder, Miller, Kabayel, Fa and De Mori are on the card.

Time to close this poll.

Fa is. Credible opponent, he Went close with Parker as a pro and has beat him as an amature. No mug.

Copped probably the most sickening back of head shot iv ever seen vs lucus brown (not browns fault was an over head right and fa turned in a way that ment it landed clean brain stem…. Should of been stopped immediately ko do or nc I don’t care just stopped, horrible reffing) hopefully it hasn’t had any lasting effects, but as bad as that loss is on his record, there’s some bad luck involved (although lucus shouldent get within 6 inches of your head with one of those loopers if you are too 50)…

The lucus brown loss has taken a lot of shine off fa, and fair enough, but it dosent suddenly mean he is a bum. (Is a shit watch though and vs Franklin will be awful)

fa has crapped it several times before, not just getting splatted in 1 by browne. getting dropped by ancient dom guinn for example. barely beating craig lewis. shaken to his boots by some low level rando (now 1-4) in nz. everyone else who'd beaten devin vargas stopped him, fa couldn't.

what is his best win in pro boxing?

for a guy overdue for a good opponent, it's another meh. congrats on beating lucas browne's KO 1 leftovers

I might report this post for excellent data!

I get it the Saudi's, who to my knowledge have never produced a good pro boxer, are using the oil money to grease the fighters away from the promoters " think "have the fighters locked in under contract via the alphabet belt game. As we have seen, fighters are willing to take a flight to the desert of the Middle East to get paid. Suddenly Fury vs. Usyk is back on. It might cost 100 million to make. As Don King might say, " Only in Saudi Arabia. " Now give King a cut as he may be still worth it to the punch drunk American fans.

The politics and power brokers in boxing are as loyal as a two bit whore. The entire sport bows down to the money.

It’s a money game. It’s an individual sport.

They’re all prize fighters.

The only boxers I can think off at the moment who doesn’t care about money is Loma.

As they say styles make fights and some will do better against certain others ranked higher and worse against others who might be ranked lower.

And of course, no one likes to fight a good southpaw.

I know Fury had a shocker and deserves to be below Usyk now, but peeps putting him 3,4 and 5 ?!

C’mon.
The Fury of Wilder II and no FG fight would be clear No..1
and as it is he’s number 2.
Of course he could lose to those below him - which didn’t look at all likely before - but he’s gotta be 2.

ffs get a vote in man.....help reduce the impact of those votes you dont like

as it is, i think fury will end up at 2 anyway, so it's not that out of control. but if you have doubts, vote him in at #1 to give him the max point boost

also, some of these lists are rating ineligible guys

Fury's recent record:
1 month ago - Controversial SD win against 0-0 Ngannou.
1 year ago - TKO win over Chisora (fringe top 15), who he had beat already twice.
19 months ago - TKO win over fringe top 5 Dillian Whyte.
25 months ago - KO win over Wilder, who he already beat twice. Wilder's stock is currently at an all-time low.

Ngannou is a novice with no amateur fights. Everybody has beat Chisora including Fury so that counts for nothing. I'll give him credit for the Whyte win which is why I even have Fury in at 4 I think it was, despite Whyte employing the worst fight IQ on the night. The last Wilder win was over 2 years ago (which is often the cut off point for people when considering the recent record) and was unnecessary. I have Wilder as fringe top 10 because his only win of note being a win over Ortiz has not aged particularly well.

Whyte may have been fringe top 5 paper… was probably more like fringe top 25 at the time on actuale level.

Wow, congrats to Whyte for being able to beat Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker, and Dereck Chisora despite being only fringe top 25. Must be the biggest overachiever ever. Either that or you're wrong.
