Falling asleep during boxing events seems to be a re-curring theme for me lately. Either its my age starting to show, or, boxing cards are just effing boring. I'm leaning towards it being the later. Watching 12 rounds of Bivol hitting a punching bag was mind numbing, then watching 12 rounds of Parker schooling the gangly looking Wilder was more than my senses could handle for one evening. It was lights out for me at that point.
I must say, i have never, ever, fallen asleep during a UFC event. Those cards are usually stacked of high quality, highly entertaining fights, with good commentary throughout and minimal breaks between each fight. The cards gain momentum as the evening progresses. Its great stuff IMO.
Boxing has a lot to learn in my opinion. It needs to get with the times. Serious changes are needed. We watched a card full of fights last night that, well, none of those fights were actually needed, by anyone, other than those making money out of it.
Now dont get me started on boxing press conferences
