Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
Usyk was gassing towards the end of both Joshua fights and I think that Fury goes one better and finishes him late on after plenty of body shots, head locks, elbows and anything else he can get away with.
Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
Think fury pulls out injured but IF it goes ahead I.ll be happy with that the fight i think Usyk will smash him i reckon Usyk isgonna really go for him box his ears off . Drop him a few times punchshitout of him ¹and get rid off him and his dad for ever .at least thats what i.m praying for
Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
Can't see how Fury is going to land anything cleanly. I suspect Usyk is going to make another statement here.
Clear UD for Usyk that is closer on the cards than it should be.

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
Historically when champions bugger around in training camps, partying or taking ‘beach holidays’ they end up with a horrible reality check. Usyk in 2 might not be as laughable as you’d think! I would though bet he will look far worse than Joshua did against the Ukrainian. I don’t think Fury makes it to the finish line. Corner retirement ‘injured’?
Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
fury will train for this one. francis was blatantly a pre camp camp. he'll be too big, too long and isnt a bad body puncher. Think he wins and everyone will say Usyk was just a cruiser anyway,

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
People seem to imagine he’s magically getting into shape when he looked as fat as butter just a few weeks ago on his ‘beach holiday.’ Surely he’s faded, yesterdays news now and Usyk will be far too sharp and professional for Fury?
Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
I thought this poll might be quite telling and its showing to be just that. Bit of a landslide in Usyk's favour. Even the few who are backing Fury are going for close points win or late KO indicating they see Usyk giving him a good run for his money.
So all of us avid and knowledgeable boxing fans are heavily favouring Usyk, yet the bookies have Fury as the slight favourite. Could be money to be made here.

It’s hardly fight of the century. Intriguing only I suppose. I predict after 3 rounds of action boxing fans will roundly pan Fury as awful.

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
youve said this before but it simply doesnt match what actually happened. usyk won the final 3 rounds of the first fight on all the cards an was battering josh at the end. he had his fight high output in the 12th, and his average thrown over the final 3 was higher than his average over any other 3 round period. where exactly do you get the idea that he was gassing?
in the rematch he won the final 3 rounds on 2 of the cards, and 2 of the final 3 on the other. the boxrec scoring average has him landsliding the final 3 of the rematch, as do the eyeonthering cards https://eyeonthering.com/boxing/oleksan ... -joshua-ii . his fight high outputs were in rounds 10 and 11. in each of the last 3 rounds he threw more punches than he did during any of the first 5 rounds.
usyk's fitness is one of his biggest strengths and that's where he usually separates himself if he hasnt already. to say he was gassing both fights vs josh is just so wildly off the mark
fight 2
fight 1

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
How about this:
- £100 Usyk to win @ 5/4, return £220, profit £120 (William Hill)
- £25 Usyk KO r. 5>8 @ 17/1, return £450, profit £425 (PaddyPower)
- £75 Usyk KO r. 9>12 @ 14/1, return £1125 , profit £1050 (William Hill)
Layout = £200
Usyk wins by KO 5>8 = profit £470
Usyk wins by KO 9>12 = profit £1145
Usyk wins on points = profit £20
Christ, thats a bloody good bet! There is money to be made here if Usyk can score a KO, and the risk is offset if he wins on points.
Anyone got a better bet combo worth looking at?

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
Fury's tactics gonna be like...
Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
To be fair, its a fight at the end of the day. If Fury needs to rough him up to win, then thats what he needs to do. He boxed Wlad and it worked well for him, but i cant see those tactics working too well with Usyk. He will likely try to impose himself, rough Usyk up, and get dirty if he is getting outboxed, hopefully anyway, as the will to win against Nganou was just not there and nobody wants to see another performance from him like that. At the end of the day, if he gets to wild points will be deducted, simple as. I just want to see a bloody good fight, where Fury shows fire and determination to win. Hopefully we get that, but I'm not so sure.

From what I saw, he was blowing out of his arse both times whether he won the rounds or not.

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
i dont really get it mate. a gassing fighter doesn't up their work rate, reach fight high output in rounds 10-12, and sweep those rounds after a more competitive middle portion of the bout. that's called coming on strong late, which is a hell of a positive quality to have, not a weakness.dr_devious wrote: ↑10 Jan 2024, 20:01From what I saw, he was blowing out of his arse both times whether he won the rounds or not.
usyk threw nearly 100 punches in round 10 of the rematch (a fight high) and 80 punches in round 11 (2nd highest of the fight). by comparison, the highs in the entire fury-wilder trilogy were 58 for fury (fight 2) and 42 for wilder (fight 3). fury threw only 20 punches in the 11th round of their first fight (the only fight with a completed 11th round), which was his 2nd lowest all fight and more reflective of someone actually tiring
so usyk throws more late and does better winning rounds late, if that's gassing then hell he should try to gas from the start

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
Ok Maggie, I didn't know about the punch stats but he did look to be blowing in the later rounds to me.
Usyk is certainly a lot fiter than Fury, I think the extra size difference will come into play. That is only if the Ngannou fight was an analogy because if that if the level that Fury has genuinely dropped to he's got little chance against Usyk.

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
“Fury is too scared to fight Usyk” has evolved to “let’s hope Fury isn’t too rough with Usyk”.

It was a reference to Fury targeting Usyk's body. Stop being so precious.
According to you 'too scared' completely evolved to 'I'm so upset and I don't want this fight to take place at all' but it's now been proven that you lied John.

yet again usyk's stamina separates him - wins 3 of the last 4 rounds on all the cards vs fury + scores a kddr_devious wrote: ↑10 Jan 2024, 20:01From what I saw, he was blowing out of his arse both times whether he won the rounds or not.

You keep bringing this up Maggie, was taken a back you remembered the first time let alone now.
That said his stamina was much better than a 14 stone bloke with 4 stone of love handles sewn on last night

Re: Fury vs Usyk Poll, method of victory
thought it was relevant seeing usyk's last quarter surge yet again made the difference
