MasterG what a great shout! I'd love that fight, enjoyed how tough he was against Babic and has some Dave Allen connections, he beat Sandland who Dave briefly managed, and also beat Jay McFarlane who lived with Dave for a bit. Also both fought Nick Webb albeit with different outcomes. I'd love this as a local match up.MasterG wrote: ↑06 Apr 2024, 05:41I know Donny heavyweight Mark Bennett has a few injuries at the moment but if he could get fit a fight with another Donny local, well Conisbrough really but still in Donny, a fight with Allen v Bennett would fill the Doncaster Dome.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑06 Apr 2024, 05:26Is he definitely coming back. Similar levle, similar age, both half coming back…

the full card https://boxrec.com/en/event/892246 stream has started but just showing the list of fights at the moment. There are 2 HW fights on the bill, other fight is Adrian King 1 and 0 vs Andrea Pesce. King made his debut 5 months in Hull (he's from Beverley). King is 19, 230ish and in great shape last time round.

King's opponent Andrea Pesce is 9 and 23, has fought in UK once, ironically against Dave Allen in 2021, who stopped him. He won is second to last fight, his first win in 3 years.

Re: Dave Allen v Jake Darnell
and away fighter Jordan Grannum is on this bill, there is a very good article covering him and 2 other journeymen in this week's BN. Jordan was a good am before he turned over. This will be Jordan's 150th fight. He is on a little run, has won twice in 2024, taking a points in against a 5 and 0 and a debutante. Would be memorable if he wins his 150th fight.

Roy Jones Jr is here, he's training one of the people on the bill. Wondered how RJJ did an interview with Boxing King Media this week in Ingle's gym.
Dale Arrowsmith v Thomas Crowder up first shortly. This will go points, Dale's got 4 fights booked in after this one.

TalkSport sponsoring this as well, fair play, thought they were just signed with GBM but good news if they're supporting even more smaller hall shows. Big fan of Spencer but he seems to have random trouble announcing Arrowsmith, amusing.

no mate, Sean Graham on FB and LinkedIn as my paternal family are criminals and I got sick of reading my surname in the papers for comedically rubbish crimes. My paternal family are a delightful bunch of travellers. My surname is Brennan I just use my wife's on social media.

born Scunthorpe, Gainsborough-raised and live apart from a 5 year gap for (expensive) first marriage. My connections in boxing are not massive, some local pros and promoters, but basically a massive boxing geek since I was 5. My father and his family boxed as ams but I never liked them so used to dodge training and go to the library (well hard me).SeanBrennan wrote: ↑06 Apr 2024, 14:19no mate, I only started posting Sep 23 but seem to have signed up Feb 22, I think I signed up when I was looking up records and it made you sign in. I speak to Jackie Kallen regularly and know Thomas Hauser a bit, as am a bookworm and read Hauser's literature of fiction and ended up getting to know him when he wrote an article about Dec Spelman, who I do knowSeanBrennan wrote: ↑06 Apr 2024, 14:19no mate, I only started posting Sep 23 but seem to have signed up Feb 22, I think I signed up when I was looking up records and it made you sign in. Sunny indeed. I've done quite a bit of work with Donny Council when I worked in local government. My wife's from South Yorkshire (Bolton upon Darne) and went to Swinton Comp and then lived in Denaby Main. Whitby is lovelyMasterG wrote: ↑06 Apr 2024, 14:25Sunny Scunny eh.
