I was cheering Heaney, but Pauls patience and unbending belief in his power, even though he didn't he didn't get it done last time made a real fight of it.
Absolute classic.

Gotta disagree there Mick ! :shame:

I love the two old warhorses - and with the loser off to the glue factory - the sadist in me can't wait... :bag:

Who was the ginger lad with the beard in the corner, wearing the forged t shirt? He was in the cacace corner against cordina too, is he a coach?

Great scrap. Hope Pauls earns a few quid and hope Heaney comes back

Not sure how people had it that close. Pauls was well up at the time of the stoppage I thought.

Watch it with the sound off

Great fight, what a finish by Pauls. Heaney showed real heart too , will they do it again?

I don't think it's a good idea for Heaney. Pauls had the confidence in his power, to bide his time, even though he didn't stop Heaney the first time. Now he has stopped him, the confidence levels will be really high and Heaney can't keep that jab going all 12 rounds, he got lazy with it after 3.

Would imagine Bentley if he wins fights Paul. If Bentley beats Pausl fights Heaney again. Not the end of the world for Heaney.

Saw the clip in the dressing room of Heaney asking Pauls to return the favour. I'd watch again but think Pauls could move on legitimately from Heaney.

Think the Heaney riddle has been solved. Paul's knows what he needs to do and is in the assendency.

I do buy the narrative that Bentley wasnt right in the head that night life problems) Heaney power was always going to find him out down the line, maybe he will be a bigger puncher at Super middleweight.

Pauls and Heaney serving up another cracker, the styles just gel, Heaney started off behind the jab and straight rights but Pauls dropped him with a perfectly timed counter right hand in the 4th and shifted the tide, Pauls began landing some hard fast rights and whipping some hard lefts to the body, it was a hard night for both men but even though Heaney found more rounds Pauls shots had more devil and he had Heaney reeling in the 11th as he had several times in the first fight, Heaney went back to his corner in unsteady legs and sure enough Pauls poured it on in the last round and forced him down with a barrage, it seemed Heaney used all his energy staying on his feet the previous round and couldn't quite get himself back up, some fight

Disappointed for Heaney, delighted for Pauls.

Tremendous scrap and this time there's no doubt about the winner.

Heaney should recover and then rebuild by headlining shows in Stoke.

Pauls may have climbed his mountain now, but I'll be watching with interest where he goes next. Beautiful knockdown in the 4th and relentless onslaught in the 12th :salut:

Cain was punch perfect, was bowled over tbh, he had the lot, composure, shot selection and power, Lane was on him from start and never let off, a double hard bastard is Ashley Lane but Cain was flawless, looked relaxed in the pocket or on the ropes, blocked and parried nearly everything that came his way and got off quality counters whether it be body shots , uppercuts or hooks around the side, great to watch, dropped Lane in the 5th with a combination and the body shot for the KO was a sickener, he looked a million dollars Cain, hasn't let the Baluta loss deter him

I agree Joe. I think he a lot on his plate outside of the ring and didn’t prepare how he wanted to.

Ah, right. Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware of that :TU:
Heaney did well, he started out very well. But as soon as the patient Pauls connected flush, it just seemed a matter of time.
I could well be wrong, but this rematch of a rematch idea just has a ring of inevitably about it.
In my eyes, Heaney is great, I was cheering him on all the way and he fought like a champ in the championship rounds. He does not disappoint. But Pauls might not be right for him again, and could, as you say, move on from this. It definitely puts him in contention for more opportunities.
