Must be honest i was barely aware of Masoud before tonight but what a craftsmanlike performance that was

Richly deserved win - that judge who scored it to Davies was mental

The judge must prefer boxers on the front foot.

I think it was Maverick who marked my card about Shabaz. I'd wrote that Bateson was overpriced to beat him and was told he wasn't as Masoud was very highly rated.

ordsalloriginator wasn’t high on Masoud. He thought he’d get ‘smoked’.

I thought it was a 50/50 last night beforehand but Masoud showed his class. I agreed with Mick in that the odds seemed too generous on Masoud but I didn’t bet on it. A much improved performance from Masoud from his Matchroom headliner. In hindsight I’d imagine that was a good learning fight for him.

I had Masoud winning 117-111. I don’t see how, under any circumstances, Davies won that fight so that judge should be looked at.

Who was the judge? TOC?

Masoud went into this as underdog as well.

Something was definitely slightly off about his performance. I kept waiting for him to start tagging Shabaz, but his timing or reflexes just weren't there. :maybe:
Credit to Masoud, it was a good win.

Yeah I got that completely wrong  It was like 8-4 to Masoud clearly

I was just going off previous fights. I've seen Davies loads of times, and Masoud a couple of times and one of those was against Sanmartin where he looked terrible and should have had a loss.

Still I'm not that impressed by Masoud, he has zero power. Both were poor.

I massively overrated Davies it seems. Liam Davies was awful, so basic and kept getting hit with the same left hand over and over, didn't change anything.. no plan B.

No offence to him, but he seems of very low intelligence in interviews outside of the ring, But I thought he was smarter than that in the ring. He was just as dumb in the ring last night as he is outside of it. No ring IQ whatsoever.

We all get them wrong from time to time.

He looked average against Sanmartin but I’d been impressed with everything I’d seen before then.

Sometimes winning a very close one can be a great thing for a boxer if it gets them to properly focus on improving rather than if he’d beat Sanmartin comfortably.
