when witter boxed ndou in LA Judah was there and said he'd not box witter again even for 10 million dollars
Thats easy to say, however if you are offered a good fight for okay money and with a world title to boot and your carrer is going the way Judah's is then talk can be cheap.

Ngoudjo was at some point supposed to fight on that card against Lynes. Was he being prepped for another tussle in the UK against Witter if theyboth won?

Lazcano has a fight with Garnica coming up for the WBA mandatory so he's out.

This EBU Light Welterweight title situation is interesting....There seems to be a desperate need for a British Co Challenger for this belt, this would also mean a WBC ranking.

What happens if Bami is successful? Bami vs Witter as a voluntary defence.... fairly routing for Witter and one in which I think Witter will impress, Bami will take the fight to Witter if he refuses to engage.

What belt has M'Baye got?

I could've sworn he had the WBC...

Witter would do Bami up like a kipper, he's tailor made for Witter. Wades right in there with very little lateral movement or guile. Would walk onto a big one and BANG.

Exactly, a sanctionable fight designed to make Witter look good. Witter would have been heavily favoured vs Cook or Muttley also. All 3 would have brought the best out of Junior (i.e. Junior would have looked pretty spectacular) which is what the US public need. Even if Lauri wins, look what happend when he previously fought Witter.

It's a good fight if it is made in short order as a keep busy domestic homecoming fight which could be staged in Bradford.

However, it's not a really big fight, so if it took a while to put together I would be inclined to try and hook Witter up with another fight stateside or at home against a ranked opponent rather than a domestic fighter like Bami.

Think it's a good idea for Witter to stay in world class, he doesn't need to come down to domestic level again. It's a shame it can't be Lazcano, but I think they should go for Harris. I wanna see Hatton v Witter but if Hatton says it can't happen til after his next 2 fights then Witter should go out there and try and prove himself number 1. Should be a good fight for spectators and if he wants easier options then he shouldn't call himself a champion.

I know what you mean, but Bami would be ranked by the WBC should he beat Lauri.

Don't know how much support he'd get over here tbh mate. Although everyone knows him here now where they didnt before. So who knows it may get allot of local interest and would be good for the city. They were going to have a European defense at a local nightclub, I dont remember if it came off or got cancelled, anyone know? Now a nightclubs too small so where would they have it? At Bradford Bulls - too big a stadium I think.

Witter may get more support in Sheffield.

That's what I think too. Reckon he's going to want some time out of the gym though, he's been in training for fekking months due to all the postponments, so he has earned a rest.

A step back down to domestic level is always a risk for Witter, but I think as champion it would feel different to him, he would feel like he was showcashing himself.

He seeemed to prosper last time he fought in the states however, so why not give him the chance to strut his stuff on the big stage.

It would be interesting to see what the yanks thought of that performance though.

Witter should tell Hatton to go feck himself and strike out on his own road... he's got a decent belt now, if he can make some defences against good opposition then it maybe that Hatton will end up needing Witter more than Witter needs Hatton...
I think a unification fight with Mbaye would be the best option for Witter right now... :box: :box: :box:

would be on a Golden Boy show, if Hennessey is still in some kind of agreement with GB. With Froch coming over. The promoter says he's still on good terms with DLH. Probably end up on some undercard to a Latino show. Can't remember who GB have around 135-40-lbs of worth, to put in with him.

Juan Lazcano, Demetrius Hopkins, Rock Allen (too soon), Vincenzo Escobedo (way too soon).

Lazcano would be a decent match-up for Witter, style-wise. Would definitely make for a good voluntary defense, whilst giving him some exposure in the US. I still think the best route for him would be a unification fight with M'Baye though, with the winner facing Hatton.

Once Torres wins the WBO belt in November, a fight with Witter would be great. A good measuring stick for comparing Witter to Cotto too.

The WBC can make next months rankings look any way they want of course - but another name on there this month that would make sense is Arturo Morua, who also has ties to Golden Boy.

He would be the quintessential 'easy' home optional defense. He's on a bit of a win streak, but got blown out by Naoufel Ben Rabah, so I'd think he'd work stylewise for Junior as well.

YOU CAN NOT HOLD BOTH OF THOSE BELTS AT THE SAME TIME.

THE WBO WON'T ALLOW IT.

I think Torres has been turning fights down. If so, I don't like the chances of Witter-Torres

Add on to that he will be difficult to beat and even harder to look good against.
Which is exactly why the bigger named fighters will avoid him like the plague, and rightly so. Let us see what interest he can generate with a couple of mandatory's my guess is not much.

Bernard Hopkins and Jermain Taylor held both for some time - isn't Taylor still the WBC/WBO champion?

Non of the ones you said !! Even tho your in WItters camp the right fight for you is!!
Cuenca 26-0, 1 ko
he wont outbox or hurt witter!!
Nice defence for december !
Maybe one more then hatton!!
But you know hes avoiding you, i dont believe what he says at all??
If not im sure Cotto is a big enough fight and a fight Witter will win!!
The only danger is Floyd Mayweather and he just looks for super fights and Witter aint there yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Lets hop he doesn't lose momentum and fights more often now, 3 times a year would be good.

1. Hatton - this is the fight I'd like to see. Witter-Hatton would be much bigger than Hatton-Urango. After Witters previous 2 fights, I thought Hatton would take him down late. Now after Witter proved he can work for 12rounds and Hatton showed he has a problem with slick fighters (Collazo) I think Witter ko's him or UDs him.

2. Mbaye - if he could unify, not only would it be a big achievement, it would force Hatton into the ring with him. Another counter-puncher, so could be another tactical none exciting fight though

3. Castillo - probably fighting Hatton, but maybe Witter can steal his fire by getting in with Castillo earlier

4. Corrales - Corrales may be made for Witter, he walks forward looking for 1 big shot and doesn't too well with slick counter punchers. I think Witter by KO early. Would look impressive.

5. Judah 2 - could be boring, and probably a 50-50, but Witter may now fancy his chances to KO Judah.

6. Viv Harris - big risk, little reward. Would be a good fight and winnable

7. Freitas - good name and beatable especially at 140

8. Juan Diaz - WBA lightweight champ, so much pressure, allot of skill, would be a tricky fight

9. Malignaggi - got a good name, slick but Witter could bully him

10. Maussa - could he beat him better than Ricky? Not an interesting fight really

Who else is there? 140 doesn't have the biggest names if none of these materialise.
