116-112 Usyk

Round 9 was probably the closest one. I had that one for Usyk, but I could see an argument for Fury. Usyk stole it at the end for me though, but I could see that round being scored evenly as well.

There's about 3 or 4 rounds in the fight that were near even. Fury had a few clear cut rounds. Usyk had at least 5 clear rounds. That's the difference in the fight really. Subtle, but clear. Usyk was able to hurt Fury, and Fury wasn't able to hurt him. Usyk was coming forward, and Fury was on the backfoot. Usyk was more accurate, and more efficient with his attacks.

It was never a blistering pace, it was just a tactical Boxing match, and the better boxer got it.

I also think . were all , always ready to call out the judges when they get it wrong , but for this they deserve a clap for getting it right , when watching its very very easy to get carried away especielly in favor of your favorite , and if rnds are close , scream robbery when we favor our favorite , i know at times i was getting excited watching and had to calm myself down look closely at what was landing and what was'nt , , and for me Usyks crisp combo's won the fight

I had Usyk by 2 rounds when I watched it properly the day after scoring it in my amateurish pen and paper way. My main positive memory is Fury's dad not being all over it or taking his top off and begging attention.

On second viewing, without being in a crowded room with people full of alcohol it’s a very very clear Usyk win and yes much much easier for Usyk this time. My perception has changed so much.

My original card of it being 7-5 is the best it can be for Fury, the best for Usyk was 10-2, I scored it 9-3.

Aj card wasn’t that bad apart from the shocker that he called round 12 even, token gesture to make the fight look closer, round 12 was clear Usyk.

id wager nearly everyone who had it for fury was hoping he'd win and scored it as such.

When you consider Fury supposedly trained so much harder for the rematch, was more “up for it”, heavier and knew what to expect the second time around he actually performed worse. Easier win for Usyk which speaks volumes about just how good he is.

Definitely.

It’s those that ‘wanted’ him to win.

Had 117 111 Usyk rewatched it first time was 116 112
only rounds I could give Fury when I rewatched were clear Fury rounds due to Usyks bodywork didn't feel it was a close fight
Think I had the 2nd AJ fight 8 4 so I feel it was a poor Fury performance

Probably Sean just too much fitness and skill felt alot of Fury stuff was on gloves I wish Fury would have boxed because I didn't feel there was much 20st aggression

I wonder of Fury was caught in 2 minds about what his approach should be. He's came in heavier which surely had to be on purpose and not due to.... well... laziness? His demeanour leading into the fight also suggested he was wanting to make it a right old scrap.

But in the fight he clearly wanted to box on terms, I seen very little of him willing to take a shot to give one, very little caution to the wind to plant his feet and throw hard combos. Given how he approached it he probably should've came in much lighter.

Yes, I was expecting him to go on the offensive but he seemed punch shy to me, he obviously knows Usyk can hurt him and he clearly didn’t want to risk one to take one.

That was just talk. Closed camp, respected people in the trade accusing his sparring partners of taking it easy on him and then walking into the ring with a spare tyre round his middle. Just words.

So you think he wasn’t as prepared as the first time? I agree it was all talk in as much as he didn’t do what he said he would but that’s because Usyk didn’t let him. I don't believe that Fury wasn’t physically prepared though, I think he came into the rematch with a clear game plan of being the bigger guy and with his dad nowhere to be seen it certainly seemed like they were more prepared.

For me, it's all about percentages. Was he 100% prepared? Absolutely not. The problem with his physical conditioning is he couldn't sustain the kind of work rate he would need to beat Usyk. Fury didn't win the mind games, Usyk was in better physical shape, better mental shape (IMO) and executed his game plan better.

I don't understand why Fury would choose to come into the rind with all of that extra fat. People apologise for it and claim it doesn't make a difference, but that's all horseshit.

His training will have been about the same.

He’s nearly 20 stone & in his mid-30’s. It’s not like he can start doing significantly more roadwork or sparring. His body can only take so much before injuries creep in.

Gotta disagree, if he wanted to be in better shape and come in lighter, he could have. He could have eaten cleaner from the day after the first fight. Whatever he's doing in training/nutrition ain't working the way it could be. I'm watching the highlights (which only show Fury's best bits) as I type. He has so much spare fat on his back, arms, tits and waste. I'm not sure what Sugar Hill is telling him, but there's no way Manny Stewart would have let him come to the ring like that.

He wanted to be heavier though, as he did in Wilder rematches, so he could bully and push Usyk around but he was unable to. Fury has never looked in great shape, he doesn’t have that type of physique.

I respect your opinion, but you're assuming a lot. You're assuming he wanted to be heavier as a strategy. My assumption is, he weighed in heavier and loaded fat because of poor preparation. He didn't have to go out getting mortal and falling over, he could have had laser focus right from the start, but made a choice not to do that.

"He doesn't have that type of physique", I hear you, but he doesn't have to have that physique. If he had the best nutritionist in the world and did exactly what he asked of them, he'd be in great shape. He chooses not to do that.

I think he went in deliberately heavy as he was looking to bully Uysk.

Everyone has a plan until they are punched in the face

Fury had a plan, Fury fought really well, Uysk adapted and clearly won the fight

You can't go 12 good rounds with poor preparation, the man concentrates on fighting, not eating quiche

The best nutritionist in the world isn't going to make any difference to Fury. He doesn't live the life so changing his diet for a few months isn't going to be a game changer or make him a better fighter. Age and injuries will be catching up with Fury so he just won't be able to train as hard as he used to anymore and genetically he just doesn't carry muscle like others. He wasn't huffing and puffing after a few rounds, you have to be fit to stay with Usyk for 24 rounds. Look at Dubois, 10 years younger, he tired as the fight went on and by the 9th gassed and he is the definition of someone who keeps in shape

Aye, wasn't questioning your judgement mate, it does show how it can be a very subjective sport doesn't it. Usyk won for me regardless. I'd be a terrible judge though, I'd be so biased. Not corrupt just really biased and base half my scoring on who I like

Good points. Also unless the nutritionist is with you 24/7 they could be the best in the business but not adhere/fully listened to.
