Grandone looks nails. I'm sensing an upset

I'm always sceptical of such a young man sporting a full beard

Have you bet on Grandone points or something ?!
He's getting marmalized. Fair play to him for fighting back, but this is not a close 1-1 ! :maybe:

British stoppage. Brown got hit a bit too often.

Brown looks like he carries some power and good work to the body

Brown well-put-together, well-schooled with ok speed.
Some good bodyshots and respectable power - he should go far @ weak CW.

Let's see how he sells in Manchester. It was telling the crowd only chanted Sale and they held it in Altrincham. He will be fun to watch but he got hit way too much for me.

Brown is going to have a very short career fighting like that .
Might be first night nerves but so easy to hit .

Don't y'all think you're being a bit harsh on a guy making his pro-debut top-of-the-bill ? :maybe:

Obviously flawed, raw etc. but IF he improves that was a great debut - Grandone had big balls and fast hands.

if he improves that was a great debut? i dont get it, why would future improvements make his debut better

he's good and has a fun style, but got work to do and not every olympian reaches the top. we will see

Brown is okay at everything apart from getting out of the way of incoming - he was just the same in the amateurs. If he's matched well, he'll make a few quid but he should spend a few minutes chatting to Mike Gomez these days and you'll quickly see how unhealthy being an exciting (i.e. warrior) fighter is for you by the time you get to your late 40s.

Either sharpen up the defence pronto or commit to four years and 25 fights and then get out.

Yeah I think the opponent is a lot better than most debut opponents. But he did ship a lot of shots.

You can see offensively he is decent tho, mixes head and body attacks well.

Really fun fight, both guys gave a good account of themselves.

Did they mean to match him with such a tough opponent ?

I'm glad they matched him with Grandone.

We got to find out a lot more about Brown than if they put him in with a guy not trying to win.

We saw that Brown has power, good bodywork, questionable stamina and a leaky defence.

Far better than a 1 minute blowout.

Loved gomez and used to see him a lot when he lived in moston, know his marriage broke down and his health wasn't great. How is he now? What a fighter to watch he was and great point

Not good, I'm afraid. I haven't spoke to him for years but I was talking to somebody fairly close to him in January and he said Mike was now really struggling from all the shots he took. He got diagnosed years ago with pugilista dementia (sp?) apparently - I've not seen the doctor's report:-)

Regardless if Grandone should be topping the bill he was game, he hit Brown plenty first few rounds but Brown did come on strong in the 3rd ,started putting a beating on Grandone, in the 4th opened him up forced him down after a barrage,. Brown was getting tore into Grandone when ref stopped it

Good stoppage, good debut opponent, nothing more tbh

Great card all the same
