I'm relieved to see Richard has another contest this Friday ahead of his British title challenge.

His opponent certainly appears durable :-

They always seem to give him durable types.

Lets hope he has just the righy kind of tune up he needs for Howard Eastman.

At this stage I think Richard needs the rounds under his belt and if he gets 8 solid rounds in, I'll certainly be feeling happier about him going in with Eastman.

Hope it's a good performance from Williams

First of all, I'm actually quite suprised that Eastman has agreed to the fight. Yes, I know he doesn't really have anywhere else to go, but I still had visions of Howard just fornicating this off and then disappearing for another 12 months. Still, fair play to him, I'm looking forward to Eastman-Williams.

As for tonight, I thought it was a very good tune-up for Williams, with Eastman on the horizon: Akrap looked a very big middleweight, and whilst he may not have fought very often, he looked a bit better than some of the eastern european imports we've seen in recent years. Classic Williams performance in some ways as well: not always great, but showed flashes of class at the right times, and a terrific right hand to end it. I've always admired the boxing ability of Williams, and whilst he's still an underdog against Eastman for me, I do think he's got a chance. More than a chance in fact, if Howard is as lazy as he can be.

All true.

Richard workd hard tonight and looked fit and the Power seemed to be good.

Howard does notnhave the accuray he once had - he lost that years ago imo.

Howard has a good jab an uppercut - if RW avpoids the uppercut - he can beat Howward - Howard id lazy and while he may have the edge in power - RW is no feather fisted puncher and has a good chin.

Top quality fight.

see before tonight i'd have said 80-20 to eastman, after that performance i reckon its more of a 50-50 fight. Whilst I admit Eastman has slipped I still cant forget the way he mullered dann though.

I had Howard as favourite before last night but ALWAYS gave RW a good chance of Victory because of his style. 60/40 before last night - 50/50 now.

RW has a good chance and last night seemed to be ideal in terms of gettng fight fit for HE.

I like the fact we saw the old RW head back and counter move last night he looked impressive.

Eastman is a fighter on the decline but Richard Williams inactivity at a good level may cost him. The fact Eastman lost to Miranda sends out alarm bells, Miranda was very raw and lacked ideas against Abraham who fought from round 5 with his jaw hanging off. This could be a close one but i expect Eastman's higher level experience to tell as he beats Williams on points.

I'll bet Eastman is playing with his coconuts on his farm in Guyana.

I seem to recall him being similarly invisible during the build up to one of his post hopkins fights.

I agree that Miranda is raw, but he's also very powerful - hence Abrahams f**ed jaw... I honestly think that Miranda had a re-match outside Germany then he would win...

I don't think anything against Eastman for losing to Miranda - Miranda was just too powerfu and the better man won. Give it a year and see Miranda being in the top 3 world middlewieghts..

Yeah, Miranda really whacks. Eastman had Miranda in a spot of bother too before he got stopped. Richard Williams will probably have noted that and I reckon he will be treating Howard with the respect he deserves.
