You seem in and around that world? How heavy do you think he got?

Crazy to balloon up when you know you got a chance coming (even if it wasn’t Johnny that performance had earnt him a decent fight) but I guess some people just gain weight if they aren’t training like crazy.

If I were Dave I would have pretended to be unmotivated 300lb and hardly training and waiting for a contract…. But stayed fit.
Hi Greg, I do not know the boxing world much. I know Kerry via bodybuilding, when he owned CNP and was a big player in UK bodybuilding with the EFBB/UKBFF, hence mentioning he will be well guided if he listens to him for nutrition. Most boxing people know Kerry as Hatton's old nutrionist and more recently as a cutsman, but Kerry was one of the leading lights in transforming bodybuilding nutrition and the domestic scene in the 90s and noughties when he was working with Dorian Yates. I will not go into it here but he was a HEAVY character and has helped people close to me - he loves boxing, has about triple digit millions and does not need to be involved in boxing and does not charge a bean for anyone he works with.

I am local to Dave though, and know people he knows well. He gets up too 22 stone which is way too heavy for a 6ft 3 endomorph. I hope he has been training and he really just does need to weight cut, if it just that and he does exactly what Kerry says he will be a good weight - but I am not sure at all that Dave will ever consistently follow advice. He seems weak minded in this regard.
I’m not an endomorph I’m a mesomorph I break all records for muscle mass wherever I get tested haha just 15 years of donuts and fizzy pop got me looking like shit but I was a very good athlete in my younger days and that and being tough and experienced gets me by, I will look like shit on the scales for the rematch but it won’t stop me winning it
I have been posting on here in one guise or another for well over 20 years and have never got a heavyweight prediction wrong.

I am picking you to win by stoppage. Don't let me down!

Will this be for the English and/or commonwewlth?

Short of being able to throw the British on it I like the English and commonwealth…

Wait…. Actualy, if Adeley result becomes a no contest (it should), could they put the brittish on this….

WBA Intercontinental I think. Fisher’s English title was on the line for the first fight but I haven’t seen it mentioned this time maybe he relinquished it?

I think the only belt Fisher had was an area one ?Southern?
The British might be tied up after that debacle on the weekend.

Just feels like a proper British fight this. Wouldn't be out of place in the 1970s.

It absolutely has to be better than that farce I watched on the weekend.

Not so sure about the undercard being all mismatches.

As it stands at the moment there's a British & Commonwealth middleweight title fight, a Southern area middleweight title fight and 2 other bouts that look competitive.

Card looks decent :maybe:
Only one TBA, and at least three fights look close on paper.

Other than some Leeds fans, does anyone care about Warrington's return?

He had a decent run against C-tier opposition like a shot Kiko, a never that good Selby, a shot Frampton that got battered from pillar to post by a Mexican car washer before jumping on Kiko's washed up bloated corpse to fluke another undeserved world title.

I think Ruth put it on the wrong thread. This is on the Sheffield card.

DAVE ALLEN PLAYS MIND GAMES WITH JOHNNY FISHER: 'IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO BE GOOD'

Dave Allen has started to pile the pressure onto Johnny Fisher ahead of their intriguing heavyweight rematch.

In December, the British pair battled to an entertaining, controversial draw on the undercard of the unified heavyweight title rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia. They will renew hostilities at London’s Copperbox Arena on May 17.

The inexperienced Fisher (13-0, 11 KOs) has come a long way in a short time and whilst it was widely accepted that the mercurial Allen (23-7-2, 18 KOs) had seen better days, the first fight did represent a big leap forward for both in terms of opposition and scale.

Although he repeatedly stated that he felt the fight had come around too quickly for Fisher, Allen presented a modest, friendly front and seemed content to allow his foe to spread his attention across the massive event rather than just the fight.

After making a slow start, Allen grew into the fight. He dropped Fisher with a left hook in the fifth and tightened his grip as the rounds passed. Despite suffering a perforated eardrum, Fisher refused to crumble and forced his way to the final bell, but he did seem fortunate to leave Riyadh with a hotly contested split decision victory.

A rematch was an inevitability and, this time around, "The White Rhino" has adopted a different approach.

Allen is weaving a narrative where the usually rampaging, heavy-handed "Romford Bull" must avoid getting dragged into a fight.

“You’re made for me to be honest because I know I'll draw you into a fight a little bit earlier this time,” Allen told Fisher during an edition of Matchroom’s Cards on the Table. “As soon as you get into a fight with me — and it's not that I'm harder than you or tougher than you — I'm just cleverer than you.

“You could win this fight easily. You could box my head off like the first two rounds, but you can't resist and, at the Copperbox, you will not resist.

“This will be even more hectic than the first one. I want the third one."

After hammering home the point that Fisher’s only route to victory is to avoid getting involved in another grueling battle, Allen then made it plain that he doesn’t believe it is possible for Fisher to have accumulated the boxing skill and composure required to carry out that task.

Whereas the naturally talented but erratic Allen was a former National amateur champion who was good enough to be offered a place on Team GB, Fisher famously started boxing as a way to supplement his rugby union training.

The 10 difficult rounds that Fisher spent in the ring with Allen in Saudi Arabia will have taught him more about the realities of professional boxing than all of his previous fights combined. Allen still believes that the gap in know-how between the two will be too great for the younger man to bridge.

“Talking boxing, you’re a great athlete,” Allen told Fisher. “A phenomenal athlete. You played rugby, you’re fast, strong, powerful. I would say a great athlete, an OK boxer.

“I’m a good athlete and a very good boxer. I’m not having a dig. You've had 12 amateur fights and how many pro fights? You can't be any good. It’s just impossible and I'm not even digging.”

I think Fisher will have trained extremely well for this and it could be a bit Whittaker rematchy. I hope I’m wrong though

Fisher was on his way to winning before he got caught. He's dreadful but he should beat Allen, who is a punch bag at the best of times. I still haven't forgotten about that dodgy Darch fight either...

Allen is the type of guy who will do his best to secure a rematch and then not be bothered.

Could be… but surely he is confident. And knows if he gets fit and wins he could get paid in a trilogy (a much easier way to make money than a “he could give him rounds” Moses pay day)
