Heck of a physique on Kelly - like many Booth fighters. Hope his body holds up to the intense Booth training long enough for him to earn some decent money.

I've stayed up for the fight as the main event only went 1.

Decent start for Joe.

Joe is the underdog in this fight but he's done ok so far. Both are working well so it's hard to see how judges see it but I'm happy with Joe

Unfortunately for Joe he's in there with a guy with other worldly conditioning. I don't know how some of these lads get in such good shape and hold as much muscle as they do.

When you get to know a boxer personally it hurts when they don't do well.

He did well. Unlucky with the head clashes. Tough guy like you say. Pattinson has freaky good physique.

Never expected a 1st round blow out for Kelly but he did look good tbf, sat down on his shots early , landed clean, Biea looked poor but you've seen Kelly piss about before against poor opposition, caught Biea with a perfect left hand and down he went, left it too late to get up, was up for 10 but should've been quicker, didn't protest much either, nearly 10 years since Kelly turned pro, what does this tell us, nothing apart from maybe Kelly needs to be aggressive

Are British refs just getting worse? It's almost any excuse to stop a fight if the away boxer gets hurt or knocked down. If it's the home boxer the ref lets it continue if they are near unconscious.

The excitement Bunce showed for Kelly stopping a guy ranked 110 in the world was quite irritating. Why that result meant that Kelly could be put in with any light middle in the world totally escaped me

While Biea wasn't a great opponent, I didn't have a problem with him being counted out in that way. The rule is that "a Boxer shall be considered to be down until he has regained his feet within the boxing ring and is in a position and a condition to defend himself." (end of Rule 3.32). While Biea chose to get up at nine, he didn't look ready to carry on, so the referee can still count on in those circumstances.

But I appreciate that point is entirely separate from "would the same have happened if Kelly had been down and got up in that way?"

Was a pretty meaningless win.

Josh is way above this level. Though he ranked in the top 5, he is not top 5 or 10 but should not be fighting these sorts of guys, either.

Bunce, undoubtedly a massive boxing fan (like us all), does what he usually does, blows smoke up backsides that are paying him, which to be fair to him, is perfectly acceptable - I just don't tend to listen to his opinion on boxing related stuff.

Kelly was all business and that's a good win.

If Josh's management want to get a proper following behind Kelly, we need to know that his career is going somewhere.

He put in a respectable challenge for the European title but it came a bit too soon and Kelly was also up against an exceptional champion in David Avanesyan.

Kelly reestablished himself with a boxing clinic winning the British title against Troy Williamson, but despite winning 7 fights on the trot it's not obvious where he's heading.

In a sport where there are 4 recognised "world titles" you'd think there would be opportunities for a guy like Josh.

Kelly on whether he’d fight Murtazaliev
“The politics of boxing’s mad,” Kelly said. “I heard Turki Alalshikh saying he can’t get no one to fight Murtazaliev. Listen, get your guy to fight me, right? I’ll fight Murtazaliev, I’ll fight him no problem. And about Tom & Jerry fights and all this stuff, it’s like styles make fights. If there weren’t no great Cassius Clay’s, if there were no great Sugar Ray Leonards or Willie Peps or Ray Robinson or any of them guys there wouldn’t be any styles, everyone would just be standing in the center of the ring.

“This Tim & Jerry fighter will go in there and he’ll beat Murtazaliev, stand him on his head. So let’s make that fight...we put our name in for that fight and we haven’t heard nothing back. So put your money where your mouth is, I’ll take Murtazaliev.”

On his interest in fighting Xander Zayas
“I should be fighting him next, really. I should be fighting him next. He was calling me out last year and at the time none of us really was anywhere, but now that he’s got the world title come and fight me next. Let me fight you next, I’m the next in the ranking.”

On an offer to fight Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis from Eddie Hearn
“The offer’s sh-t. He’s done it like ‘you got to reply within 24 hours or we’re moving to a different opponent,’ and it weren’t Eddie, it were Eddie’s Lawyer who sent it. It’s all smoke and mirrors, and then they put it out in the media. Listen, I’ll take the Jaron Ennis fight, 100%. Give me the right money and the right time, I’m there. I’ll fight Jaron Ennis.”
