I saw Del say In an interview this week that the fight taking place during Covid was probably the reason he didn't get the verdict. A live audience would have swayed the judges in any of the close rounds.

One thing these fights have shown is Daniel is a very slow thinker , if he in facts even thinks at all , it gets too a certain point and he looks at his corner with a help what do i do now look on his face , when he's not told he just stays down , what he does'nt do is try to change strategy mid fight , , he does'nt say to himself Mmmm thats not working i'll try something else he just carries on the same and makes it easier for his opponent .

I think too be honest that is a problem with so called camps nowadays , we have sports phscologists in camp , S and C coaches ,diatecians , the head trainer , the pad man , the ice cream man on hot days , the sell hot chestnuts man on cold days , the manager , the promoter , and most important of all the main man in charge the FATHER ....

What they don't seem to have is the teacher , the trainer who teaches , amongst other things , the fact that your out there on your own and you HAVE TO BE ABLE TO THINK trainer can't do it for you and if he tells you to do A if that does;nt work you have to be able to come up with plan B or C on your own , boxing is not rocket science but all these so called experts would have you think it is , because they want there share of the pie . .

Daniel can come back , he can improve , but he will not , at least not until he swaps pants with his sister , puts his own big boys pants on and does what he wants not what he's told too do , and the first thing he needs to do is go get himself a good teacher

As much as I agree, I dont think he has it in him. I'm not expecting to hear he's become entranced by the works of Satre etc any time soon.

 Yeah Satre hasn't got claws in him just yet...
Coneye is right about his ring IQ he can't seem to make adjustments on the fly.
Uysk knew this and was immediately able to go to work on him without taking a few rounds to settle in like he normally does.

Usyk is so skilled he puts DDD in positions that make DDD look like a rank amature, just with the subtlest movements. watching "UNBELIEVABLE KO! Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2 | Fight Highlights" on YouTube... 3 examples ill timestamp bellow...

-12 seconds into the fight he lands an stiff upjab on DDD while DDD is literally airborn... just times the bounce and hits him stiff in the chin as DDD is in the way down. I think that's when I knew DDD was fucked.... (0:46 time stamp for above^)

- 0:14 remaining in the 2nd round he gets DDD reaching too far, DDD is standing completely square on tip toes 12 inches in front of usyks lead foot at the moment usyks buzzes him with the backhand. Couldent draw a much worse position to be in getting hit (althought the next one may be worse....) (1:47 time stamp)

-The KO punch... Usyk takes a little step off the the left which massively exaggerates how much DDD squares his stance following his own haymaker attempt, it ends up leaving DDD standing dead square with his feet about 5 feet apart, strait legs just frozen in perfect range... and gets clobbered as a result. (2:59 timestamp)

If you pause these 3 moments 1 frame before the punch lands Its almost comical how mad a position Usyk has put DDD.... and seeing that it becomes pretty obvious how a guy that isn't a lights out puncher can constantly hurt DDD....

margaret thatcher wrote: 20 Jul 2025, 22:42 it was technically a quit because he obviously consciously stayed down. but if dubs got up and fought on he wouldve surely been stopped very quickly after. that last knockdown was a big one that turned his whole body to jelly and he already couldnt defend himself after the first kd. so even though it's true he didnt show the fighting spirit some others have, i dont think continuing on would've helped him in any way. he would have taken more shots just to prove to some people he's not a quitter. to me it's not really the same as a guy with little heart who calls it a day just when things heat up a bit. anyone remember that dominican guy who was schooling ricky burns, then retired like as soon as burns came on just a tad?

for me all his losses are kinda the same - he defo consciously stayed down, so ya it was a quit and he's defo no gatti, but it was at a point where he had taken some big punishment and was gonna be done soon anyway.
I agree with this.

If he’s flat on his back for a while and then slowly tries to get up, then it’s different. But in his KO losses (all of them), he’s literally been in a position where he is fully aware of his surroundings. He knows what he’s doing. He’s just waiting for the count to finish so he can get up.

So Yh it was a quit, but at the same time, I don’t think he had it in him to do anything different or turn the fight around.

He’s never gone out on his shield.

Yeah an odd one, apparently his dad threw a big party for the entourage the day before.

DDD needed to get out of there to clear his head.

Looked a terrible party, just a bunch of blokes standing around, total sausage-fest. Dubois looked even more uncomfortable and awkward than usual, would be amazed if he had anything to do with it. Needs to scrap his entire team imo.

Totally agree, madness really.
Scrap the team, ditch the dad, leave the entourage and go train in America.
Clean slate and some new ideas in the ring.

When Caroline was talking about getting clear, I thought she might have been dramatising the situation, but shame on me, it really is all a bit mad :shame:

He probably is but they all have to tread very carefully when speaking about the dad because it's not a battle they are going to win. I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel got grounded for his performance on Saturday.

You wouldnt get Tyson taking the full count on this knee, then bouncing up.

I agree he was never going to win the fight, and good corner work to throw the towel in.

But you look at AJ when stopped, Fury when hurt, you gotta nail them to the floor, different mentality.

Even after the second knockdown, cling on for your dear life, allow your head to clear, or go out swinging

something was not right, a lot of revelations coming out now. Dubois can't have been focusing on the fight with all that nonsense going on

But saying that, I don't think it affected the result, Uysk is that much better, KO'd Dubois with a jab in the first fight
