Khan spent 10% of his purse days after on a new motor. That’s fine, but when you’ve had money and then lost it you might be a little wiser from the lesson.

Fighters seem to think it’s easy to promote. In reality it’s very hard work, risky and very few make a success out of it.

Guys like Mick and Dennis Hobson probably haven’t made much money from boxing whilst the guys that have, like Frank, have still had problems (winding up companies, being shot etc).

This is the essence of it, though I would make a very important distinction between Dubai and Saudi - in the latter case the govt is spending big on top tier sporting events, including boxing. Whereas in Dubai's case I've yet to see the govt back a single major boxing event and those that have been staged by private promoters have invariably bombed.

I’m sure there but there are also people in those places that will think investing in Amir may be a good idea. He reportedly received £7m for fighting Billy Dib in Jeddah so he clearly has some fame/notoriety there.

I think he had a big show at The Velodrome with three European titles on.

The Quigg/Munroe was the biggest show he did there I think - had Ryan Rhodes beaten by Rabchenko on the undercard plus Martin Murray,

Arena was far from full too. A cracking night though. Lucas Browne single punch KO of Hastings Rasani about 11.30pm with 20 people in the arena was a magical moment.

Most promoters struggle to break even. Most boxers are on ticket deals and lucky if they scrape £100 a fight. No wonder everyone jumped on the MTK bandwagon when it came along.

More lucrative organising white collar "charity" boxing. The well run orgs must make a killing off what the events - and I bet pay f all to the charities.

Most boxers are at small hall level. It’s a total con job. At that level they may as well work for free.

I was at a Micky helliett show a few years ago. All undefeated prospect v journeyman fights on the card. Looking back over their boxer s all the prospects had a few more similar fights / wins and their careers ebbed off. Not one of them went anywhere.

It seems he could be tempted to return though, as speaking to iFL TV, Khan admitted he might well be up for coming out of retirement for a fight with Misfits Boxing founder KSI.

I know he had Canelo when Canelo was younger. He had Ryan Garcia for a bit there, but the biggest names I associate with Golden Boy Promotions are De La Hoya himself and Bernard Hopkins.

Salita seems to be doing a decent job for a small time promoter.
