Carl Thompson vs Rothman, Carl Thompson vs Haye, Clinton Woods vs Hoye and others.

There was some good stuff. Just none of it involved Audley which is where the bulk of the cash went.
All of Froch’s early fights, Eastman, David Walker…
Yeah. Walker was in some good fights on the BBC. Am I right in thinking Eastman vs Hopkins was on the bbc too?
I actually went to that fight. It was shown live on Setanta PPV and then on BBC2 the next day.

I worked for Mick for several years when he started out. BBC was our first broadcast partner.

Frostieballs, I think it might be a case of mistaken identity :TU:
Although it is possible we might have chatted at one of Hennessey's shows when David Walker was boxing :maybe:

I've had a good chinwag with Mick a few times at boxing shows and very occasionally bump into him at a restuarant we both go to, but it would be a big stretch to say we know each other.

Always enjoy talking to Mick...and his son :TU:

I think you might be who I’m thinking of! I did Dave’s PR and organised the shows etc. Did you always come to the weigh-ins?

Frostieballs, actually I think we might have spoken when Dave boxed on the Froch v Barney undercard and when he challenged Jamie Moore. That's going back a few years !! :D

I didn't go to any of Dave's weigh-ins, so that must be someone else.

Boxxer-BBC launch jeopardized by injury to Jeamie ‘TKV’ Tshikeva

Jeamie Tshikeva is expected to be ruled out of his fight with Frazer Clarke after suffering a rib injury during training.

The 31-year-old and Clarke were to contest the vacant British heavyweight title on October 25 at Vaillant Live in Derby, England, in what, perhaps more relevantly, represented the first fight of Boxxer’s new broadcast agreement with the BBC.

It remains unclear whether Tshikeva will be replaced with an alternative challenger for the British title, whether Clarke, 34, will still fight in a non-title contest, or whether the promotion will be postponed, but there arguably isn’t a sufficiently appealing undercard fight that could replace Clarke-Tshikeva in the main event of the launch of a new venture on British terrestrial television.

The potential blow to Boxxer follows the conclusion of their broadcast agreement with Sky Sports, and with it considerable uncertainty surrounding their promising stable of fighters.

The promising light heavyweight Ben Whittaker recently signed promotional terms with Matchroom; Ben Shalom’s fellow promotional rival allegedly had also been critical of their choosing to schedule Clarke-Tshikeva on the same night that Queensberry Promotions and DAZN are overseeing the pay-per-view fight between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley in London.

"TKV" Tshikeva had been scheduled to fulfil media obligations on Wednesday in an attempt to help promote his next contest, but, similarly, he is no longer expected to speak.

Jeamie TKV Sustains Injury, October 25 Fight vs. Frazer Clarke To Be Postponed

British boxing’s return to the BBC on October 25 is set to be postponed following an injury to heavyweight Jeamie TKV.

The 31-year-old was scheduled to take on Frazer Clarke for the vacant British heavyweight title in the main event of the show at Derby’s Vaillant Live Arena but a rib injury sustained during training camp means the fight will now be postponed.

The show’s promoter, Boxxer, are now working hard to find a solution and it looks most likely that the whole show will be rescheduled, with November 29 in play for the new date.

Another option for Boxxer would be to find a replacement for TKV to ensure the show, their first of the new arrangement with the BBC, still takes place. However, with few credible opponents available at such short notice, a postponement is expected to be confirmed imminently.

It is understood that the British Boxing Board of Control have not put any other British heavyweights forward to replace TKV and fight for their title, but the rearranged contest would still be for the vacant belt.

The postponement is a blow to Boxxer, who had hoped to launch the new deal with BBC in style. The show was set to be the first live free-to-air professional boxing on the network for more than 20 years.

But they will now have to wait another month for TKV (8-2, 5 KOs) and Clarke (9-1-1, 7 KOs) to finally fight. Their initial Oct. 25 date was set to clash with the heavyweight fight between Fabio Wardley and Joseph Parker at London’s o2 Arena, which will be shown on DAZN.

Now Clarke-TKV is likely to land on November 29 - which will clash with Ben Whittaker’s Matchroom and DAZN debut at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre instead. Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 KOs) is set to fight Benjamin Gavazi over 10 rounds in his first fight since leaving Boxxer this year.

If their budget is what TKV was getting then I’d hope they can find someone of a reasonable level.

Yes mate - a long time back. I may have got the weigh in part wrong!

Do you still speak to Dave? Had a lot of time for him. Message occasionally on Facebook now.

More years than I care to remember !

Unfortunately, I haven't been in touch with Dave for a long time and I don't do any social media.

Probably the nicest guy I've met in boxing !

How is he doing at the moment ?

I saw he was helping Harry Senior a few years back.

Webster will probably be a more exciting prospect than TKV, Clarke is the star here

But I'm surprised no one better has accepted it

That says to me that the money isn't there
