I remember all the saga from the 80s. Especially as a West Ham fan.

Only a few years older than me I think he lived in Orange County of somewhere south of LA. He was involved in a gym & kids football if I remember rightly.

I didn’t expect that at all. What happened to him what a warrior he was, the absolute classic against Roy Gumbs, up off the floor in the bedlam at the Ally Pally, fighting back to knock out Gumbs - what a night that was.

You’ll never see a braver fighter than Mark Kaylor. Knocked down something like seven times in a big upset versus buster Drayton, on the same night that Frank Bruno got knocked out in a huge upset.

Another reminder of how these fighters need to be looked after. Apparently Mark had dementia at 62 years old.

That’s terrible news and terrible he was poorly at such a young age. He would have been a big favourite had he been boxing now and made some money. Very popular fighter, I always though a bit odd they didn’t cultivate some kind of wbo title fight vs Eubank in the early days (when they were matching Eubabk against the likes of Gary Stretch)

I heard him interviewed a few years ago, sounded terrible. Very slurred speech.
