I remember that this move was later re-released as "RIPPED-OFF around 1975, when BARETTA became a big hit on TV.

BTW betcha didn't know that Ron O Neal aka SUPERFLY had made a (bare-knuckled)" boxing movie too.
( btw one of the people that the Hitter was fighting had fought Greg Page that same year-Ira Martin of Baltimore)

Re: Boxing Movies
I never watched the 1st and 3rd Penetentiary movies, but that 2nd one was cheesy as all hell. In a pretty hilarious way.
I think my favorite part of the movie was when the commentator says "I BELIEVE!" Like 8 times in a row when rooting for the main character in the climactic battle.
And the Villain of the movie was a really, really bad villain. Makes Drago or Clubber Lang look like Choir Boys

I always felt Ving Rhames character was based on Mike Tyson.Syntax Error wrote: ↑26 Aug 2016, 12:37 Undisputed - The one with Wesley Snipes & Ving Rhames.
I quite enjoyed it & I thought Rhames played the arrogant & obnoxious HW champ to a tee.
