Conor Benn signs with Zuffa Boxing

“I’m filled with excitement and hunger for what’s ahead with Zuffa Boxing,” Benn said in a statement. “I want the legacy fights, the biggest nights, the biggest stages. I fear no man at any weight, and I’m ready to give the fans the fights they’ve been calling for. I’m in my prime, and together we have bold, ambitious plans”

“The Destroyer” Benn (24-1, 14 KOs) is a second-generation star and welterweight contender who is coming off a unanimous decision win in a rematch against Chris Eubank Jr. in November.

Benn lost the first fight in an April barnbarner that was named The Ring’s 2025 Fight of the Year. Both fights took place at 160 pounds, but Benn plans on returning to 147 pounds for his next fight.

In recent weeks, the 29-year-old Brit has been looking to leverage his standing as the WBC’s No. 1 contender to face the winner of Saturday’s fight between WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios and Ryan Garcia.

Benn has also called out the likes of WBO champion Devin Haney, WBA titleholder Rolando Romero and IBF champ Lewis Crocker.

“Conor Benn is an absolute beast and a superstar,” Zuffa Boxing and UFC frontman Dana White said in a statement. “He shows up every time and destroys people, and now some of the best fighters in the world are calling him out. He’s ready for a world title next and I can’t wait to see him compete in Zuffa Boxing. He’s going to be a huge addition to a growing stable of very talented boxers.”

Benn’s union with Zuffa Boxing marks another significant signing for the company. Last month, The Ring and IBF champion Jai Opetaia also signed a deal with Zuffa Boxing and will headline a show on March 8 against Brandon Glanton.

Zuffa Boxing debuted last month and has already staged three shows.

Even with the quite shocking state of Jr in the rematch there was widespread talk of a rubber match. Maybe Eddie hung around long enough to ascertain whether a 3rd fight was possible and has now been made aware that it won’t happen.

So then he has to tell Conor that any fight he has now won’t generate anything like the revenue of the Jr fights and therefore he has to adjust his purse expectations accordingly. Cue toys out of the pram from Conor and in steps Dana.

Conor Benn's Zuffa Boxing debut to take place in U.K. before end of May

Conor Benn’s move to Zuffa Boxing will not take him out of his home country.

Officials connected to the situation but unauthorized to speak publicly on the matter told BS Friday that England’s Benn, 24-1 (14 KOs), will participate in a major Zuffa Boxing card on a spring date in the U.K. by May 31.

Benn, 29, stunned the fight world Friday by leaving Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing on the heels of two lucrative bouts against countryman Chris Eubank Jnr, the second of which was won by Hall of Famer Nigel Benn’s son by unanimous decision in November.

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix placed the value of Benn’s one-fight Zuffa Boxing deal in excess of $10 million.

Benn is currently ranked No. 1 by the WBC, whose champion Mario Barrios defends his belt Saturday night against Ryan Garcia at T-Mobile Arena here.

Additionally, Benn has been in talks with WBA welterweight champion Rolly Romero, who hasn’t fought since his May 2025 unanimous-decision victory over Garcia.

Benn is ranked No. 4 by the WBA, and an official close to Romero has said they believe it’s possible that he will bypass unbeaten mandatory contender Shakhram Giyasov for a fight of great import, like Benn.

Not a good look from Benn to only contact Hearn via a solicitor after everything Hearn done to support him and get him back and in big fights that he had no business in being in.
