I’m no doctor (obviously) but aren’t there safer ways to fix that sort of stuff? Especially for an athlete? Taking a bit of bone out of one place to fix another just seems like asking for trouble.

I don't know, but that's the story from boxing people close to him up here. People are gutted for him.

thats really unfortunate. he looked a great prospect. nice and rangey with good skills and power. sounds like he might be 'done'

ive spent 40+ years in operating theatres. bone grafts to hands are often done to promote bone growth, strength and quicker healing and to help bone fusions. sounds like he has been one of the unlucky statistics. the donor site (normally iliac crest)can be painful and troublesome, but should heal in time and with good physio an dmobility. its the hand thats the key component for Hopey. I wish him well.

Ben Whittaker is quiet given that he's with Matchroom now.

Although I read something about them getting him on the Boots vs Ortiz card, so maybe they are waiting on the announcement of that. But feels like he needs another fight soon.
