Joe is not your family, sir. How about that? If you ain't apologizing, I understand. I am not expecting an apology anyway. But, show some respect since you are the moderator.gilgamesh wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026, 18:39If you think Joe Louis is a bum that would be easily beaten by Buster Douglas, at bare minimal you're under a severe delusion how about that?elmersalsa wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026, 18:21Why the name calling, gilgamesh? I don't like that at all. Show some respect.
Joe Louis wasn't a bum brother. His skills weren't primitive. His combination punching and accuracy is matched by very few Heavyweights throughout the sports history. Suggesting that he'd be blown out by Douglas as if he's just some scrub is absurd.
You talking about me show some respect? You need to put some respect on the name of Joe Louis.
Buster Douglas was not a scrub. He was a perfect-sized heavyweight with great attributes like size (6'4"), weight (231lbs), great fast jab, mobility, strength, punch, and great ring generalship. The guy had it all. It was his lack of training, discipline and interest in the sport that he didn't care much about that he didn't succeed as one of the greatest heavyweights of all-time. He had the talent to do it.
Joe Louis was a great fighter. But, I can't see him beat big talented heavyweights of the quality Buster Douglas.
Why? He was too small. He didn't had the chin to absorb the bombs from those big dogs of the 90s decade. In his prime, I doubt that he weighed in more than 200lbs.
If a guy like Tony "Two-Ton" Galento dropped him, imagine Buster Douglas? Buster Douglas ain't going to be dropped by a guy like that? Do you believe that.
I want an apology. Now!
