Very small gloves, no headgear. No offense, but it's a horrible photo.

Nope. My failed attempts at skipping, and painful sparring sessions were enough to convince me that I was pony and should stick to football and cricket.

I actually started skipping over the last year.

Bloody sweat after 5 mins.

Then started slowing down. Done for a minute. Then stretch, then skip then stretch.

Anyone here do skipping?

Ace pic

My Pa was a traveller and made me train as a kid. Which made me hate it. I used to pretend I was going and go to the library instead.

I’ve carried that bravery into adulthood :OhYes:

Years of training on and off never improved me beyond "pretty shit". I did finally enter and win a white collar fight, having realised I would soon be too old for that too. Definitely helped having a crap opponent six inches shorter than me with a belly!

What I meant by horrible photo is a child being punched. The quality of the photo itself is excellent.

I did Spud I was absolute rubbish I didn’t like getting hit and I had zero coordination. Combine it with a lack of heart and I was the complete package.

My lack of boxing skills were the reason when I did door work I was the worlds politest doorman. The few times someone insisted they wanted to fight me I’d arrange to meet them at 4am.

I finished at 2am and went home….

I could actually work the speedball after a while, struggled more with that ball in the middle of two elasticated wires, but what was really my problem was getting punched in the face. It's most unpleasant.

In the 70's /80'S it was probably safer to be punched in the face by your mate than go on Jim'll fix it.
