Contrary to your rather charming invitation, I would rather ask DDD to punch my rectum than watch this shambles. He's not replying though so I'll probably just read a book instead.

Your loss pal. Undisputed Heavyweight Boxing Champion vs Undisputed Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion is never going to happen again in your lifetime. Dismiss it if you want.
It's never happened before, and will never happen again in all likelihood. The stars have aligned for this once in a lifetime Sporting event.

So, looking back at the Dubois fights I think that could mean Rico:
Getting past round 9
or winning at least 2 rounds on all three judges cards
or being down by less than 5 points when the fight ends if it gets to rd9 or later (I think)

Hahhaaaaahahahahhahahaah. Crack is one helluva drug.gilgamesh wrote: ↑23 May 2026, 02:41I look forward to, and expect Rico to give Usyk a better fight than Dubois did in either of their fights. He may not equal Joshua or Fury's efforts, but I'll bet he can match and better the effort of Dubois.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑23 May 2026, 02:32Thanks for the background, didn’t know much about him, although saw him get flattened, which makes me think his chin is not going to hold up against a real boxer who knows how to set up and throw a knockout punch. In short, he’s getting trounced.LloydVanDams wrote: ↑22 May 2026, 17:02 I'm pretty familiar with Rico as a kickboxer and made what can loosely be described as an audio commentary in video form about him, his overall fighting arc and his prospects tomorrow from my perspective. I'm not one to promote myself, as it were, but it took bloody ages to write my script and it's only received three views so far. It would be an honour if any of you could listen. Thanks for reading.
Yeah, what bizarre scheduling is this? The real heavyweight fight is the one to watch and they put that on first, then follow up with what is bound to be a snoozathon with mogadon Jack Catterall ( cue lots of ringside sheiks looking at their iPhones for 12 rounds ) then the sheeraz mismatch - who looks like he’s the same height as Rico in that lineup - shame on frank putting his man in such a easy fight, as it’s not like he needs protecting

The only way Usyk can lose is ageing or a lucky punch
I know that his team have sport scientists that are monitoring his hand speed and reaction time (a good friend of mine from Cambridge did it for the England cricket team and now does it in franchise cricket)
I think he will win comfortably but he will certainly have the mathematical data as to whether he is slowing down - if he is then he is taking a risk.

Of course Usyk is the heavy fav and I'd put my mortgage on him but let's not pretend Ngannou never put Fury on his arse and arguably beat him when he was lineal
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven | DAZN - 23 May 2026
Not disagreeing at all, but it was an out of shape Fury thinking it was like a night out in Benidorm.
Accept that Usyk is a few pounds more than last fight but I’d struggle to believe he hasn’t trained properly.

I reckon Usyk stops him in 7-8. The pressure and pace Usyk sets will wear Rico out, he isn't used to boxing at that level.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven | DAZN - 23 May 2026
A mismatch obviously. Anything except a stoppage win will be disappointing for Usyk. I'd rather watch him against Kabayel.

Rico is going to shock a lot of people with how well he performs here. I will not be one of them. I expect Usyk to win a hard fought Unanimous Decision. It'll probably be about even early on.

We definitely can't keep dismissing these dominant Champions from other Combat sports as gimme's. They're built different, they're strong, they're unorthodox, and they definitely can be a difficult night's work.

i do not really follow modern boxing but Begic record is really dodgy not because he won fights just level of opposition.. sorry same with Catterll's opponent ...not their fault but really...stinks a wee bit.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven | DAZN - 23 May 2026
It wasn't Rico that good, how Usyk was bad. Usyk didn't prepare well, he was pretty fat and not enough mobile. It was close enough, either a draw after the 10th or a slight edge by Rico. The final rounds could determine everything, so in this sense a premature stoppage after the bell sounds especially frustrating.
Anyway, put Usyk against Kabayel next.

Yeah, it's well past time for Kabayel to have his shot.DrDuke wrote: ↑24 May 2026, 01:41 It wasn't Rico that good, how Usyk was bad. Usyk didn't prepare well, he was pretty fat and not enough mobile. Awkward or not. Effective is effective. You can't argue with what works for a guy. If it works that is.
