I look at it like this... Castillo came in overweight as he could not make weight, he was bone dry as was Corrales, no "cheating" involved just incompetent camps for not coming forward sooner. However Corrales spitting out the mouth piece was a blatant move that was illegal, call it cheating if you will. I just don't like the double standards.

Now I hope Casamayor gets the respect for accepting the fight, as did Corrales.

OH BTW personally I'm still a big fan of Corrales AND Castillo, he is still one of my favourite fighters behind Pacquiao. :TU:

So if it was just a "mistake" as you maintain, why do you think they didn't notify Joel's camp? What do you think the reason for that was then?

Be interested to hear your spin on this one? :D

Surely having been involved in the Castillo affairs Corrales should have been even more wary of doing this sort of thing himself... if Castillo was a cheat then so is Corrales for my money... though in actual fact I wouldnt brand either man a cheat and am more concerned for Corrales well being than anything else.... like the Castillo affair this shows once again the stupidity of the modern weight making rules... which allows fighters to fight at divisions far too light for them... like Castillo, Corrales should probably be at 140 at least, if not 147...

Hatton doesnt crash weight in the last couple of days before a fight - he takes it off in a sensible and monitored manner throughout his 12 week training camp.

Kerry Kayes is a fountain of knowledge regarding supplements and nutrition and I belive he helps Ricky get it right time and again.

I agree 100% in Kerry Kayes is something else. Without him, Hatton would struggle. Before Kayes teamed-up with Ricky, Ricky did struggle with the weight. Billy Graham has admitted this. However, Kayes is a bundle of knowledge when it comes to diet, nutrition, supplements and strength/weight training.

He is a real asset to Hatton's camp.

Diego seems genuinely contrite.
He apologized a few times in open letters, some were posted on fightnews, he said it was his fault and he's sorry....in what way did he refuse to accept any responsibilty?

Really I see no difference.

Karma is a bitch.
I called Castillo a cheat, I still maintain it, he did it twice with Corrales and has done it one other time in his career.

Once can be considered an error.

You cannot say fairer than that, if Corrales does it again I would be the first to slam the guy. Plus he took responsibility for his actions, Castillo called Corrales a coward and acted like a grade-A burk.

Corrales has made a mistake and should be punished, Castillo is a cheat and was punished. Goosen may be an idiot for this but there was toe under the scale type deception!
Once can be considered an error? What 5 pounds over.

Youre mad.

Corrales has been fined $240,000, which $120,000 will go to Joel Casamayor, also there is going to be another undisclosed payment from Corrales to Joel.

Will be interesting to see if Corrales' has to pay his trainer his fee from his adjusted purse, or if his trainer will get his percentage fee from the origanal purse Corrales would have earned.

Corrales cheated just as much as Castillo did in their first fight. They were even if you like after Castillo came in overweight, do not lay the blame purely on Castillo for the little scale trick.

Now with Corrales coming in overweight ( expecting Casamayor to accept the fight) They are 2-1 to Corrales in the cheating stakes.

I just remember all the comments from Corrales camp calling Castillo very unprofessional for not making weight, "a true fighter makes weight"

Your last comment should be

Corrales is a cheat and should be punished as hard as Castillo was (not much  ) Castillo is a cheat and was punished
Yeah, hasn't Diego lost most of his purse though? That is a fairly hefty punishment.

I do not paint him as an outright cheat right now, this was a mistake but I agree with you that it is a disgrace that he and his camp did not notify Joel, then Joel could have levelled off his own weight.

Castillo and Corrales, two special fighters with very poor camps/advisors.

Both guys should have been punished and educated about the strain they put on thier bodies then informed that if it happens again, even by a lb or two, then boxing would have no place for them anymore.

If Corrales gets injured it will be a tragic thoing but if being harsh he will also bring the sport into massive disrepute by fighting when not physically able for the rigours of the sport.

It won't happen though :TU:
Blimey, I just got back from a nine hour drinking session & thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

A real shock that Corrales didn't make the weight, even though he's massive for a l/w. A joaw dropper nonetheless. Ultimately, it adds another extra layer to Corrales-as-victim.

Only thing it really tells us is that fighters should fight in their proper division & none of this would've happened. How much is this taking off the careers of top boxers Castillo, Corrales and even Cotto?

I hope Casamayor wins it. One of my favourite boxers

Overall, we have to feel sorry for these guys even though they're in the wrong. Feeling weak and depressed before risking their lives in not good.

Happening quite a lot in recent years, fighters simply not making the weight. I'm glad Castillo is no longer singled out, even though he did it twice.

Rosendo Alvarez (vs Ricardo Lopez II)
Guzman (vs Joe Morales, non title)
Castillo (vs Corrales II & aborted III)
Barrios (vs Guzman)
Corrales (vs Casamayor III)

James Toney vs ?? (cruiserweight fight ended up being WBU super cruiser or something,; the biggest scandal of all!)

Boxing is run by a bunch of circus clowns. How the TV companies can do business with these idiots I'll never know.

Whats the point in even turning up for the weigh in. They must have known he was over before hand.
The only moving and shaking many of these lard asses produce is around their midriff. Most of them are sharp as a butterknife.
