Now I hope Casamayor gets the respect for accepting the fight, as did Corrales.
OH BTW personally I'm still a big fan of Corrales AND Castillo, he is still one of my favourite fighters behind Pacquiao.
So if it was just a "mistake" as you maintain, why do you think they didn't notify Joel's camp? What do you think the reason for that was then?Terence wrote:
I do not paint him as an outright cheat right now, this was a mistake but I agree with you that it is a disgrace that he and his camp did not notify Joel, then Joel could have levelled off his own weight.

Kerry Kayes is a fountain of knowledge regarding supplements and nutrition and I belive he helps Ricky get it right time and again.
He apologized a few times in open letters, some were posted on fightnews, he said it was his fault and he's sorry....in what way did he refuse to accept any responsibilty?Terence wrote: At the end of the day we can speculate but the fact remains that the difference is that Castillo did the same stunt twice and a member of his camp was playing with the scales, he then refused to accept any responsibility for what he did.
Diego seems genuinely contrite.
Once can be considered an error? What 5 pounds over.Terence wrote:I called Castillo a cheat, I still maintain it, he did it twice with Corrales and has done it one other time in his career.lvlarc_uk wrote:How come no-one is calling Corrales a dirty cheater then eh? You know the one's that were slagging Castillo off pillar to post![]()
Karma is a bitch.
Once can be considered an error.
You cannot say fairer than that, if Corrales does it again I would be the first to slam the guy. Plus he took responsibility for his actions, Castillo called Corrales a coward and acted like a grade-A burk.
Corrales has made a mistake and should be punished, Castillo is a cheat and was punished. Goosen may be an idiot for this but there was toe under the scale type deception!
Blimey, I just got back from a nine hour drinking session & thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.Terence wrote:Yeah, hasn't Diego lost most of his purse though? That is a fairly hefty punishment.lvlarc_uk wrote:It's not once though, 2 wrongs make a right? Yet people were bashing Castillo & his camp for not coming forward sooner and asking for a catchweight. Corrales cheated just as much as Castillo did in their first fight. They were even if you like after Castillo came in overweight, do not lay the blame purely on Castillo for the little scale trick.
Now with Corrales coming in overweight ( expecting Casamayor to accept the fight) They are 2-1 to Corrales in the cheating stakes.
I just remember all the comments from Corrales camp calling Castillo very unprofessional for not making weight, "a true fighter makes weight"
Your last comment should be
Corrales is a cheat and should be punished as hard as Castillo was (not much) Castillo is a cheat and was punished
I do not paint him as an outright cheat right now, this was a mistake but I agree with you that it is a disgrace that he and his camp did not notify Joel, then Joel could have levelled off his own weight.
Castillo and Corrales, two special fighters with very poor camps/advisors.
Both guys should have been punished and educated about the strain they put on thier bodies then informed that if it happens again, even by a lb or two, then boxing would have no place for them anymore.
If Corrales gets injured it will be a tragic thoing but if being harsh he will also bring the sport into massive disrepute by fighting when not physically able for the rigours of the sport.
It won't happen though
The only moving and shaking many of these lard asses produce is around their midriff. Most of them are sharp as a butterknife.KO Artist wrote:Boxing is run by a bunch of circus clowns. Whats the point in even turning up for the weigh in. They must have known he was over before hand.
