He had been ill and was still shaking it off when he fought Joyce. Don't think he mentioned it/moaned about it but it's true and will have made a difference.

It's honestly stunning that he has a win on his record over Dubois followed by a loss to Chisora. He's probably the only boxer in the World that will have that on his record.

That being said, the fact that he could've even lost to Chisora means that something must've happened. Either a bad injury, or something must've happened that significantly affected Joyce's ability to perform.

But yeah if you can't beat Chisora in 2024. I don't really know what's left for you. You're not even a Regional Champion really if you can't get by your Country's old Warhorse that almost everybody gets by.

The Joe joyce Tyson parody quote (I think before the Zhang fight or at least one of the times he said it) “everyone got a plan til they hit me in the face and nothing happens” really bit him in the arse. I’d love Joyce to retire. Was a very big Joyce fan. The big awkward unit is fun for me. That said if he wants to fight again he needs to be smart with who he picks.

Whyte is my favorite option. Big fight, and I think Joyce wins. Yoka grudge match if he beats gassiev but looks bad doing so… other than that….
Fracer Clarke is a coin toss that would be fun. Ortiz? Pulev? Allen? Rico? Wilder?

Ultimently I’d rather him retire. But, if he wants to fight again I hope he picks wisely.
